As someone who was very close with my father, he died on Christmas Eve when I was 19, I was in a state of shock. I felt numb. I thought something was wrong with me. A few months later all the emotions hit me at once and it was like I felt everything, unexpectedly. It was like I couldn’t stop crying. The mind does strange things to protect us. Just because she isn’t crying doesn’t mean she isn’t grieving.

I can’t imagine how quiet and empty her house feels right now. Moving around the rooms with her husband and sons things… their cologne, clothes nicknacks. The strength it must take for her to even get out of bed. How do you even wash the sheets and wash the smell of your husband off the sheets knowing it’ll never return? It’s unimaginable. My heart goes out to her.

This woman has probably cried for hours, days on end. Just because tears aren't rolling down her cheeks and she's been able to compose herself to give this interview, does not mean she isn't mourning ffs! Mourning traverses through different phases. I can't believe how judgemental people are. Imagine people critiscising how you handle grieving of a loved one? SMFH!

My heart breaks for this woman. I can’t imagine what it’s like to lose a husband and a child in one fell swoop. 😢

My heart breaks for her. No parent should have to bury their child.

Our family lost 4 members in a car crash years ago and grief hit us all differently and at different times. There were times when I cried so hard at the most unexpected times, and other times when I felt like I should be crying but I wasn't. It was very confusing, and I felt like I was grieving each of them differently which was weird to me at first until it started making sense. There was also anger at the 18-wheeler driver who plowed into their car from behind. We can't judge whether someone is grieving just because we don't see them crying because grief and the reality of what has happened settles in at different times. There are many emotions going on all at the same time. You may not understand why you aren't crying at a particular moment but you'll find yourself trying to eat dinner and you end up crying too much to eat because, just for a moment, you realized that your loved one(s) really is/are gone and you won't ever see them again. Grief goes deeper than any of us can understand and the reality of what has happened takes a while to set-in as well. My prayers go out to this woman and the loved ones of all of the lost. 🙏

My shock lasted for two weeks, I think she is still in shock. When the shock wore off, the pain was unbearable, excruciating. Shock protects the body.

As a mom my heart is breaking for her. Can’t begin to imagine losing your son that way so young. May she find some comfort and peace.

A mother should never have to live to see losing her child. She never even got to see him for the last time or burry him. I feel for her the most. I’m sending her all my love. I can tell she’s been crying for days now.

The mother is the most heartbreaking part. That longing for you baby. The feeling of wanting to comfort them in that moment and she couldn't. Absolutely devastating.

Even though she is not crying on camera, I can feel her internal sadness as she talks about them. This is a woman who has alot of emotional control
