It's amazing how badly you can hurt and not have a broken bone. I have a severely sprained ankle (swollen, bruised, can't move foot up/down, can't put pressure on it) but the xray says it's not broken. The human body really is held together by paperclips, rubber bands and duct tape

I broke my ankle slipping in the bathroom. I literally heard it pop then I hit the floor. I immediately blacked out because the pain was intense. When I woke up I seen my foot turned a whole different way. The paramedic said oh it’s not broke it’s probably badly sprained 😒 sir my foot is crip walking on its own. It’s def broke. Ruined my whole girls trip. Now trying to get a good night sleep with a splint on it’s the absolute worst!!!! I hate it here 😩

Glad my sprained ankle heals after 3 weeks....95%, swollen is the longest part to go.

I was hiking in the winter (February) of 2020 and my right ankle rolled really bad on the ice, the pain was like nothing I ever experienced, had to hobble back down a wooded hill and get in the car, adrenaline wore off and I felt like my skin was crawling...was hobbling for weeks, really bad bruising, couldn't even touch it without searing pain, could move the foot though little bit. Kept it in a brace from the drug store, was able to hike again in a few months, this was during covid so dr's visits were very limited...Wife was a huge help though, survived it!

Sprained my ankle going downstairs in the dark didn't see the last step thought it's the floor level. Next few moments my vision blurred and brain stopped I laid down flat while absorbing the impact.

US Army Airborne jumper here - had my first jump today. The jump & landing was nearly perfect. Literally landed in a small patch of 6 inch deep mud and it anchored my ankle as I landed breaking and fracturing my ankle. Going tomorrow for surgery 🙏🏾

I'm a skateboarder and it's pretty much an on and off thing w/ me tweaking my ankle. My first injury was a partial syndismotic tear 2 years ago. Since then I've tweaked the outside of that foot (EFL ?) three times. After 3 months it is usually fully healed... and of course I do specific exercises, try everything I can to prevent injury

Sprained my ankle playing soccer today. I rolled on it and heard a pop. Was down on the ground for a minute, but got back up limping. Had it iced immediately and have been icing on and off. Not sure if I need to get it checked or not. The pain is not unbearable... what's unbearable is not being able to do all the physical activities desired.

We have to be our own advocates and not stop, or ask someone that you can trust. I rolled my ankle inward as walking, recessed storm drain was the step down, thst I didnt expect. I've had it assessed Day 1and then at 3 weeks, it's now been 8 weeks and I don't have the dull pain but it's lingering soreness, tingling top of the foot, cold soles, and it seems like it slips out at the joint as I become weight bearing after the seated position. They only gave me ace bandage and at 3 week I got a soft brace....I feel that it wasn't enough...frustrated because I've helped so many people when they've been in my current position. Thank you for this comprehensive video. Filled in many holes that other videos simply don't cover.

I was playing basketball and went up for the usual layup but something was off about this one, I jumped too far horizontally instead of vertically. My immediate reaction mid air was to plant my left foot to stop myself but I was going so fast that my foot rolled when it landed and I remember looking down and watching my ankle go inverted with quite a bit of force. I was in excruciating pain before I even hit the ground. Thankfully I had enough adrenaline to walk off The court and drive home but once home, the adrenaline wore off and the pain forcefully convulsed through my body so much that I projectile vomited once I got out the car

Sprained my foot for the 3rd time while walking down an incline and I stepped off the curb wrong. It happened to fast (and I was holding my child when it happened too) that I'm not sure if it was an eversion or inversion sprain. The first 2 times was the typical inversion but this time the dorsal, medial, and only a little bit on the lateral side of my foot hurts. It was excruciating when it happened! I did get an x-ray and no break thank God. But I'm impatient and want it healed now lol

POP! like broomstick snapping in a wet towel and watching my foot turn 100°. Im like, dude... its broke, take my word 🤨
