After I left Christianity nothing but good things have happened to me. I made incredible friends who actually care about me and share the same ideas, I have furthered my knowledge in science and math and overall have a better and more positive outlook on life.

I know right! I felt so free the first time I said to myself: 'I am not a Christian anymore.' It took a few seconds to sink in, and then I realized that I didn't have to go to church for the rest of my life, that I didn't have to be a bitch about gay people's rights, I could look at the world and see both its beauty and horror with an open mind, and have a critical attitude towards things that I deemed detrimental and immoral.

And about a year later I found out that I was bisexual. Glad things happened in this order :P

The day I realized how crazy and illogical religion is, was the best day of my life. It was so freeing! I felt like I could do anything in life I wanted to, like I was being held back before that day. Since then I have done what makes me happy and tried to become the best person I can be, all without the help of "God". Logic!

Cannot agree with you more! I'm exploring exploring Chrisitanity, I've been in the faith for as long as I can remember, but now that I'm older I'm exploring it on my own, doing my own research and boy is it eye opening. My parents are not happy with me, but it's my own life. I will not follow blindly.
I especially agree with you about having to lead others to Christ. I have never felt that calling, in fact when I invited my friends to church in highschool I felt beyond uncomfortable. Yet it was forced on me by my parents to invite them, even though didn't want to go and I had no desire to invite them.
Needless to say me no longer going to church and exploring the Christian faith has created such a rift between my parents and me, but I couldn't be happier. I'm exploring and learning, and not tied down to Christianity anymore. I'm no longer afraid to do things that they considered wrong. It's just crazy.

Fortunately I have never been religious. It just was never part of my life and upbringing. But I can imagine how liberated and relieved you must feel! To me religion always seemed such a dark, oppressing, suffocating, delusional, negative force. I am very happy for you that you are not carrying it around anymore, you are free! I feel your joy!

I know what you mean when you say you feel more free now that you're an atheist. It's by far one of the best things that ever happened to me! :) I love your channel. You have such a calming voice, you explain things very well and you use facts and logic to back your arguments. I especially love your video addressing the history of slavery in America and how the whites of that time used Christianity to keep slaves oppressed and submissive. For the longest time it has baffled me as to how the majority of African Americans in this country are Christian after all the grief, pain and suffering that it caused their ancestors. Have we truly forgotten history so quickly? I am so glad someone finally spoke on that topic, and I think the message means so much more coming from you, an ex-Christian and an African American, than it would coming from any other atheist on Youtube. Definitely subscribing. Keep up the brilliant work!
