I've been atheist since I was about 8 I'd say, but was brought up Anglican. Now I'm 31 I feel like I'm only just appreciating how the message of Jesus can be a powerful force in one's individual spiritual journey and to better oneself

I've been a Catholic Christian all my life since I was a infant and I attended Catholic church mass every Saturday or Sunday and never once has Christianity done me any harm. I even have a friend of mine who isn't a catholic but who happens to be a Baptist and is planning on becoming a Baptist minister. He and I have our different Christian views but still I consider him a good friend and I consider him a Brother in Christ. And I have another friend of mine who isn't Catholic but who happens to be a Greek Orthodox Christian. He and I may have our different Christian views but still I consider him a good friend and a Brother in Christ too.

i dont think i will ever truly understand how difficult life was for the early christians. the bible hadnt been written, no guidance, no songs either. gospels songs are so dear to me. as a way to encourage myself. they didnt even have that. not to mention the persecution. truly what a luxury it is to be a christian now. grateful
