Only downside with golf cart rental is that you must pay to park. Scooters don’t have to pay for parking. I love the free DuvalLoop bus with 18 stops and live bus locations on the app.

As far as ports go, Key West is one of the safer locations where you can do what you did. Places like Jamaica, Freeport or Nassau, you need to practice vigilance, and if you really want to explore, then perhaps an excursion booked through the cruise line is best. In my opinion, other safe ports might include Georgetown, Grand Cayman and any of the ports in the BVI or USVI. BTW, you try feeding the tarpons yourself. You don't have to wait until 4:00 🙂

Nice video. It definitely gives me some ideas of places to visit. I was hoping to hear more about the shore excursions though, and why I shouldn't take a guided tour. Reviews of them are difficult to find.

We took a narrated trolley tour of Key West which pointed out all the places of interest and gave A really good history of the place. IIRC for $29 each. Just walk to Duval st.

For the 4 hours we will be off the cruise ship. I will just take the trolley tour for $130 for both of us.

Should have got a car rental instead of golf cart! Most are only $30-50/day
