One small tip I have is no matter how hot you think it is going to be, always bring a light shawl for your evening dress, and light sweater or zipper hoodie for early morning or at night out on deck or for your day on land. You never know when it will rain, and it can be chilly with cloud cover in the mornings. Even inside the ship can be a bit chilly with the air con.

We learned a valuable lesson our first cruise in 2011 that I wish more people understood. We started in Galveston, and the port was fogged in to where we couldn't leave until the next morning. At that point there wasn't enough time to make the scheduled first stop in Jamaica, so they changed our itinerary from Jamaica/Grand Cayman/Cozumel to Grand Cayman/Cozumel/Progresso. The line at Guest Services of people who just wanted to complain about not going to Jamaica was insane! Our lesson was, don't get too attached to specific stops on your cruise, because they can change due to forces beyond the cruise line's control.

With all the bad news we see on television, you two are truly a breath of fresh air. Even if a person has no desire to take a cruise, I recommend your videos just to lift their spirit. Truly enjoyed you two. Thanks for the smiles and laughs.

My 1st time cruising mistake was paying too much, due to a travel buddy wanting a balcony room. I could have stayed in a cheaper room because I was hardly in it!

Take a carry on bag with things you may need for the next few hours like sunblock, swim wear, etc. because your luggage may get to your cabins into the evening hours.

Man I wish I knew all that 2 months ago when I cruised with RC Oasis of the Seas, my woman got a 4 days as a surprise for less than $800, I thought it was a good deal but at check in we had to put a credit card on file for any expense we incur during the cruise, man short story I walked out at the end with a $700 charge, drinks and gratuity and the tips I gave the bartenders every time they made me a nice drink without realizing they are getting tipped already, but the worst experience was being forced to buy a 24 pack of water for $35, I still have PTSD from that😂🤣

You can change your gratuity amount also. You don’t have to settle for the amount they generate.

Thank God my cousin had been on multiple cruises before the family’s first trip together. She schooled to everything you guys covered. Pre buy your water, use your phone for pictures, eat in the dining room because you paid for it, pack light, get wifi package, tip at the end of the cruise.

We are going on our first cruise, so I started looking for resources to help get an idea of what to expect. I stumbled on your channel and spent a whole off day watching your episodes! You guys aren't just a wealth of information, you're hilarious! Thank you for what you do... I'll be watching y'all several times before embarkation day in December!

I took my first cruise a few weeks ago and I saved a lot of money by following your advice. THANKS

One other tip is, I know it isn't always economically feasible for everyone but the money for a room with a window is extremely well worth it. I stayed in a windowless cabin and although it was nice I felt boxed in. Also for souvenirs look at the itinerary for sale spots like the 15$ sales. Remember you can always walk away if a price is too much and Remember the drink waiters are offering as if they are free are NOT free sadly. Friend took a birthday shot because the guy acted like it was free. He was mad, I paid for it for him but he learned.

My wife is going on her very 1st cruise on December 18, 2023 in Galveston. This will be my 3rd, but I'm learning so much. We will be prepared. God Bless you both.

you can always talk to your doctor about scopolomine patches, they last about 3 days, and prevent sea sickness, instead of using CVS brand motion sickness pills.

My 1st cruise was through a travel agent and it was worth it! My advise, all 1st time cruisers should book through a travel agent. They know more than what the website shows and they can throw in a discount sometimes, too. Great informative vlog as always and please tell us the story of you guys 1st cruise! Much love, family ❤️❤️❤️

As a veteran cruiser we found that purchasing the Faster To The Fun pass was worth it. We kinda explore ports of call on our own because we've been to many, so many times. Always research ports of call prior to cruise and if you want to book an excursion do it ASAP. Also set your watch with the ship clock if you go off exploring on your own. Haven't cruised since the pandemic so it would be great to back out there. Great video! And I enjoy trying the specialty restaurants on board. Fahrenheit 555 was really nice.

I feel y’all. My first cruise was in 2011 and my then husband and I spent soooo much…But on my next cruise—-I barely spent money. What a difference the first cruise makes!

My first cruise is 2023 on the Jubilee transatlantic. But I've been all over the world, and I'm a massive planner! I learn key phrases in every language, I download or print maps, know where the embassy is...you name it. I know more than my guides.
