I have a type a personality but it’s not because i want to smash others, it’s because i’m afraid of failure or what other people think of me.

This is mostly me however I found myself getting older that I am less patient with things. One good thing about type a behavior, these people get things done

I have some Type A characteristics, but not as extreme. I’m only competitive in things that really matter to me.

I'm a Type B. And Type A Individuals and me NEVER can live together. We can be friends, but oh Jesus, is it bad to live the same space.

Interesting. As a clinical and forensic psychologist, I learned about personality functioning (and dysfunction) in grad school, but not Type A or B, the Myer's Briggs, etc. That's more counseling psychology. I don't know why, but I've always assumed Type A was equivalent to being an extrovert, which I'm not. Someone I respect referred to me as Type A, which got me thinking...and WTH, this person was spot on, based on these traits. Not all of the traits apply to me, like being wanting/needing to be the boss or lowering team morale, but when it comes to work, which I'm extremely passionate about, yea, I want to be the best (even though I know perfection is unattainable). I feel like I would have been eaten alive if I didn't find competition to be motivating, even now at times. I hope I'm not as intolerable as the vid makes me feel like I might be. Insightful. Thanks for sharing.

This video describes me. At work, I'm guilty of being competitive against my younger coworkers because I feel as if I haven't accomplished anything or working hard at all when I see my younger counterparts at work working hard or get promoted to management position before I do. I shouldn't be like that though. Also, I can be pretty impatient with slow service at stores, slow drivers on the road and slow moving people in my way at the store. Moreover, I get pissed easily when people cross the wrong side of my emotions, or if something falls off the shelf, resulting in me banging my fist on the table or screaming and cussing. It doesn't take much for me to get angry.

I’ve always known the older I get the more type A I’ve become. I have 90% of the traits from the video. In a way I thought it was just luck that I move up a lot faster in my positions at work but it’s rly this type A personality and my bosses sees it. So it’s not all bad

I had a type A person in my life for almost 2 years. I myself am a perfectionist and a planner, but at the same time very aware about other people's feelings and hate arguments (so I don't know which type i am myself). Anyway, it was almost impossible to please her, she constantly criticized me, which took a tool on my self esteem. She was very proud to be a type A and adviced me to learn more about her personality type (which I am doing now). I ended the relationship after a argument with her, where she said "i can see you are completely drained now, but i on the other hand are really refreshed. I love a good argument!" Like it was a quality to be proud of - to me it sounded completely toxic. I wonder which personality types fits with an type A? I wonder if they are only compatible with other A-types?

This really explains why I can’t understand a lady friend of mine. But today I met her and her friend who is a social worker, and her friend said she is a Type A personality. So I had to look this up and it explains everything. But she isn’t very successful at much in the moment.

Know a type A. Now everyone at work excludes them from conversations because they can’t deal with the personality. There’s a way to lead and be loved and respected. Always on your back, never giving praise and micromanaging causes people to despise you. Type A’s will look for any scapegoat for their faults and will try to succeed at any expense.

I work with one of these who proudly proclaims he's a type A. It's a nightmare going to work every day with him...he does ALL of these things.

I'm a type A personality. Dominant and devastating. Perfectionist. Best at everything. Everything is a challenge or competition. I'm 6ft4 about 230lbs and fiercely handsome and stoic... I despise sarcasm. It insults my superior intellect

I've been smoking DMT and God is helping me to defeat my ego. I'm about a month into my DMT therapy and it's working. I've made huge changes just from talking to God..

Type A personality just sound like people who need therapy. Emotionally unintelligent and wounded by their own fears of failure/perfectionism.

A new girl started at work and she admitted she's type A. After 1 hour of her talking to another employee, she was already driving me nuts. Constantly giving baby/new mom advice to the other employee, taking control even though _she's_ the one who's being trained, making know-it-all comments. She's trying to show how great she is, but all I see is an insecure and self-centered girl desperate for approval.

To me this is more of a sickness than a personality. I’m mostly a Taipei but in certain situations I can take on more of a Taipei if it’s necessary or warranted. I’m not competitive as I find truth of film in life comes from being at peace with oneself, and being kind and good to others.

Some are born this way rather, made this way, by parents who do not recognize that they are collaborators in the manufacture of an evil and spoiled child, who will alienate even grandparents so that their parents, will worship them.

It is a perilous path toed. As a grand parent, a sad reality. If one is not sucked into the cult of personality, and if the child in question is not constantly given praise for impossible behaviors, as a grandparent, you may not see any of the grand children, of this union, at all.

My opinion is based upon my own experience.
