Should you buy the Sony a6500 in 2021?

The Sony a6500 was released 5 years ago in 2016. Is it still any good?

Psssst. Yes. It's good. I still shoot with this camera all the time. It's a compact camera that packs a powerful punch. You can pick one up for around $600 in 2021. Even though it has a cropped sensor, the image out of the camera is solid, especially when you dial in your picture profiles.

I recommend this camera to anyone who shoots events, weddings, etc., and anyone who doesn't want to shell out thousands of dollars on the A7III and the full frame lenses to go with it. The APS-C bodies and lenses are crazy affordable compared to full frame and, in my opinion, give you more bang for your buck.

Hey Corey, i watched a bunch of your videos today, this is the video that youtube put on my home page and how i found you. I have been using the a6500 for a couple of years now and use it mostly for talking head portions of videos on your RV Travel channel. You have convinced me to just get better at using my a6500 and maybe invest in some new lenses instead of upgrading to full frame. Every once in a while i come across a Chanel that has really good content but very low view count. I love to study youtube and why some channels are successful and some are not as successful. Your channel is one of those perplexing ones. Love your content delivery style, I subbed and cant wait to see more video creation skills. Thanks. Larry

I am right now looking into buying either the a6500/6400 or the a7III and my biggest issue with the aps-c cameras is the small batteries. How big of an issue do you experience the smaller battery to be in your opinion?
I was considering getting the a6600 but no-one is currently selling it used where I live. Liked the video, thanks :)
