Why You Should be Demanding as a Nomad

At Nomad Capitalist, we preach to "go where you're treated best".

Beyond legal tax reduction or wealth creation, global citizens should also demand the best from the daily interactions.

Being self-aware of the cities you want to live in, the service you expect, how your employees should work, and what you want out of life is important. Many digital nomads and perpetual travelers often ignore this, choosing to believe that ignorance is bliss.

By demanding the best in life, you're more likely to get it... and that's what the Nomad Capitalist lifestyle is all about.

Wonderful, wonderful video. Thank you ! EXACTLY ! As a world traveller all my life I rely solely on the "energy" of any place. The moment you get out of the plane, if you are tuned to perceiving subtle energies, you will KNOW. Even the air's aroma of certain place will accurately indicate you how it will fit with you. Don't talk yourself out from your initial intuition, it is always correct.

It is all about being honest with yourself, and different times in the same place can yield different results for many reasons.

What a proper timing that I come across this video. Today I happened to speak to a girl who described me as someone who is demanding for what I want, I honestly didn't looked at myself in this way before I became an expat, but after listening to her analysis, I realized that this is true to myself, it somehow excited me a confidence to move forward, and now I find this months old video which is talking about this topic. Yes, there is no doubt that being an expat, we all needs to make sure what we want for setting up our offshore places, as Andrew pointed it out to us before, luxury life style V.S comfort zone, for choosing luxury life instead, we decided to enter a nomadic life realm, we want to leave our comfort zone, but then where to establish this luxury life style right? Without finding it for our owns, there is no point to even leave our comfort zone in the first place, thus, yes, a Nomad has to be demanding on what he is wanting, so that he will fulfill his motive.

I totally agree about Bangkok. It's overrated, polluted, congested, the list goes on... But for many first timers to Southeast Asia it's a reference. I also like KL like you do but many people will say, "can't compare with Bangkok as Malaysia is a Muslim country... The same about Cambodia (too poor for many people), Vietnam and so on...

I don't mind BKK personally. I think it depends alot on the area. Sukhumvit for example is very different from Khao San.

I'm trying to understand how to listen to myself and hone down what I want. What do you do when you have to make a hard choice between a few places and your gut tells you one thing but your brain says another?

I think if you are judging Thailand solely on Bangkok, then you are limiting yourself quite a bit.
I lived on Phuket island, famous for Patong Beach. Patong is famous for being a bit like Pattaya, however, there are communities that are hubs to that which are very different in character. Karan, with a clean, nearly empty beach, because it is Muslim majority, and they aren't big on the swimming. You can proceed up the coast to Surin, which is much more exclusive, with captivating views, incredible ammenities, wealthy, quiet, and retiring.
Or you could go the other direction down coast from Patong. A much less sexual vibe than Patong, however very beach oriented, much less expensive, much more Buddhist, fishing communities, and much less touristed. All the conveniences, plus a fast access to the regional capital of Phuket Town, which is more collegiate, including sports attractions, car racing, cultural food and music festivals, schools for children, cheap housing, ex-pat communities that are less sex-tourist and more business or education minded. In this chain of beach communities you'll also find the best surf in the country, and a growing Russian community as well.
I find all this entirely different from Bangkok, and clearly distinct from Patong's nightclubs, bar girls, and tourist traps, and tuk-tuk hell.
I urge anyone attempting Thailand to try these communities in Thailand instead. The girls aren't as often pros, the food is great, the people friendly, the living cheaper, and all the access to create business exists.

I felt the same negative vibe and energy in the Philippines (Manila and to a lesser extent, Cebu).
