𝐒𝐑𝐌𝐒 𝐂𝐄𝐓 𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐒 𝐒𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐑 𝐎𝐍 ‘𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐖𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐍 & 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃’ 𝐓𝐎 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐊 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐖𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐍’𝐒 𝐃𝐀𝐘!

On account of 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲, the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐬 & 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐄𝐂𝐄) in association with 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 (𝐈𝐈𝐂) at 𝐒𝐑𝐌𝐒 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 (𝐂𝐄𝐓), 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐲 recently conducted an interactive 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 on ‘𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝’. Aligning with this year’s theme, ‘𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧’, the seminar underscored the importance of swift and decisive steps toward gender equality, addressing systemic barriers and biases in women’s personal and professional lives.

During the seminar, 𝐃𝐫 𝐒𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐲, Head, ECE Department emphasised upon the principles of ‘Shakti’, ‘Prakriti’ &‘Dharma’ in relation to women. He also discussed the frameworks for recognising women’s strength, autonomy &moral agency.This was followed by enriching sessions on ‘potential of women through a poetic perspective’ and ‘leadership angle of women’, by 𝐄𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐥 &𝐄𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚, Assistant Professors, ECE Department, each. Thereafter, 𝐆𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐚𝐮𝐫 from 𝐁 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 (𝐄𝐂) highlighted the role of women in Science, Technology, Engineering &Mathematics. Soon after, 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐚, 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐢 & 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐚 depicted the powerful roles of women through attention-grabbing dance performance.

The seminar concluded on a high note on how women still have to make a substantial struggle against the regressive approach to protect their freedom, which was supported by a thought-provoking interaction on deep-rooted Indian ideology of motherhood that’s influenced by powerful mythological scripts of Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Manusmriti.
