Why You Should Never Use Weebly for Your Website

I've always been interested in entrepreneurship and wanted to start a small business in the community where I went to high school. That's why I decided to open an ice cream shop in Marion, OH.

With any small business, you need a quality website. I use Square for our POS system and they have a partnership with Weebly to create an online store for small businesses. I wanted to have the ability to take online pickup orders so I had no choice but to start building my website with Weebly.

Once an order was placed on our Weebly website, I needed to get notified about that order so I could start making their food (yes, we also have sandwiches, salads, and soups). The Weebly customer service team told me I could get text notifications every time an order was placed so I purchased an iPhone and a website subscription.

Turns out, their customer service team lied. This is why I will never use Weebly for any of my websites ever again.

I've used Weebly and Square online for about 6 months now and we get an email notification immediately when an order is placed. I'm not sure if this is a recent update or not, but it works for our purposes of being notified when an order comes in. Also, if you have the square app open, a notification will pop up there as well when an order comes in. Hope this helps!

My problem is that when I have a problem I can’t reach anyone there in any way. If you have link to contact someone there that would be great. I haven’t found any options in Support page.

Hey! I’m to let you know, in the mobile app there is a feature in the “account” tab, and it says “notifications” you can access all of your notifications through there.

How is it possible to run an online store without getting some kind of notification on what the customer has tried to buy. Surely the warehouse that holds the product (or in your case restaurant) is the bare minimum? Something seems amiss here.

Help me out here guys, its now Sept 2022 my subscription is ready for renewal should I continue with weebly or find another platform?

My situation - In 2023 I want to start selling digital downloads. I don't want the problems that Andrew has had. Have these problems been rectified since Andrew made this video?

If not can anyone recommend an alternative drag and drop platform?

If you use square as your credit card processor and you use weekly to do your site, you have to connect the two and then you can get your notifications. I get notifications every time I get a sale online and when anyone pays. I know its been months since you made this video...so i hope you were able to figure it out.

I've used weebly for years and now that square has merged I cannot figure out how to get into my weebly site which is moronic!!! there's no edit site. I can't disk in through weebly anymore. fkn pisses me off!!!!

Same here! I had someone build my website and so all my orders are emailed to him and it’s so hard to have the orders emailed to my email. Also I ordered the most expensive subscription and it does not even give me all the features that was promised like a shipping calculator! I’m beyond furious with this website

I've had no issues with Weebly and Square notifications; however, my store is retail.... I don't need an "immediate" notification. If it shows up the next day, I'm still shipping it.

Weebly wouldn't give you the update, I would assume square POS would give you the notification for that order .
