Watch Oxygen Advantage founder and world-renowned breathing expert Patrick McKeown speak to an influential group of health professionals at the recent Health Optimisation Summit in London.

Patrick was presenting his very well-received topic: ‘Why We Breathe: How to Improve Your Sleep, Concentration, Focus & Performance’.

The aim of the event was to “unite the health, wellness and science disciplines”, and in doing so, it brought together thousands of industry professionals and members of the public.

Patrick would like to take this opportunity to thank the organisers of The Health Optimisation Summit for an excellent event and for giving him the opportunity to speak among such luminaries of the health and wellbeing world and on a subject about which he is very passionate.

I've started nose breathing for about 8months not really religiously when I remember lol I do not use my asthma pump no more I couldn't believe it just though this now I'm spreading the word.

Initially I listened to some else teaching Buteyko Breathing, because I didn't quite catch Patrick's accent and then, I heard him in conversation with James Nestor and everything fell into place, accent breathing and more. Again many thanks.

This is not easy. I'm uptight, too active, always helping others, doing too much, always thinking . . . always in a "fight or flight", my body is never relaxed, bowel movements not regular, headaches. This is slowly teaching me to help myself. Again teaching myself to breath slower is not easy. As a dentist, this book is a god-send for overall good health. Very important to open the airway. The body needs oxygen. Narrow faces, narrow dental arches, blocked nasal passages, limit oxygen coming in. Talk to your dentist. Widen the dental arches - never removed crowded teeth - have the orthodontist widen your arch so the teeth are no longer crooked, and your airway is wide open for the rest of your life. Now, let me go back to helping myself in practice these breathing techniques. Thank you, Patrick.

My wife does =4-5 count breath holds on our walks. Would be great if you covered pericharditis and myocharditis. She's had chronic pericharditis for many yrs. She used your covid video to help us get through it. Thank you.

I've been doing the Wim Hof method for 3 years now with good results. However, I wish I had come across Patrick's work first and got a solid grounding in breathing.

Butekyo helped me ditch the inhaler which was really aggravating my condition and also not great for my heart !! BUt if you live somewhere with a lot of environmental dust or fumes etc .. as in being near a road ... Buteyko isnt enough alone .. it was so hard thought when i had asthma becaue asthma made me feel I had to gasp in air .. but once I got the hang of it ... I stopped getting that panic gasping

Breathing slower and lighter basically cured my insomnia in two nights. Even if I don't sleep that night, I don't feel so tired anymore.

Hey Patrick - reading your book now, love your work! What would you say to some sleep doctors that say the "TikTok trend" of mouth taping during sleep is dangerous? I'd like to start doing that because I do often wake up with a dry throat or mouth, but want to make sure I'm being safe.
