I cried today at work. SO creative and in a BORING job... very educated, NOT a secretary but f'ing treated like one and I'm a Chief of Staff!

I used to work in a large medical practice where I probably answered 500 calls a day. Scheduled appts, did medical records etc. It was extremely stressful. I didn't cry, but was very frustrated. One Friday the manager asked me to count how many calls I got. I think they were thinking of cutting hours on Friday. I counted 100. That was a slow day where I thought I could actually breathe. I only felt appreciated after I gave my notice to resign to go to another job. I know exactly how she feels.

This is exactly how I feel. I'm also a writer and am unhappy at the job that I'm currently working at, it's an ok job but I feel like I'm wasting time being there. I'm meant to be around wealthy people who have the same mindset as I. Not standing behind a register dealing with crappy customers and employees. I need some sort of direction to put my foot into the door of success.

*Sometimes it's hard to achieve what you really want to do in life, but nothing is impossible, you just need enough motivation and don't be all doom and gloom. I've seen people from really poor backgrounds come out successful*

I encourage Julie to know her number as far as how much income she will eventually need to make. Then again, if she has no idea what that number is, maybe she doesn’t need the money which is a blessing. Best wishes on the writing. Write, write, write so that you will find and believe in your “voice” as a writer.

Are there any other companies to work at in her city?

She should have given a true earnings number. Could she work at a craft store or is that too low income. What about local paper. That might be too low.
