I just realised that "do me a favor" is a psychological technique used to hold the viewer's attention, I feel a bit manipulated now

In Brazil we have this really cool sentence that says:
"Who knows, does it
Who doesn't know, teaches it"

A general rule of thumb that I like to follow, that applies to a lot of things is that “If it seems too good to be true, it’s probably because it is.”
Do your due diligence, research whatever that opportunity is and make sure that it is worth the money/time.

My buddies will show me this video of some self help and I cynically ask "And they have a $600 course on how to achieve this professed bliss and achievement yeah" and they're always shocked that I got it right. Sometimes the best things in life are free: If it sounds too good to be true, it likely is

Seriously. I saw an ad earlier today where the girl teaching the course was saying all you have to do is make 2% returns daily. Starting with a dollar and 100% reinvestment, you'd be a millionaire in less than 2 years, a billionaire in less than three, and worth 47 times the entire stock market in 5 years. Why would you be wasting your time running YouTube ads if you could do that?

I'll chime in as a self-made millionaire. I get inquiries all the time where people want me to help them out - advice, how to do this or that, etc... I have literally sat down beside someone for hours helping them name their company, buy a URL and setup an LLC and they still didn't put in any actual effort to make the business work for them, whereas I own multiple successful companies. Just yesterday a guy hit me up on Facebook asking to pitch a business idea; I accepted. Told him to meet me at a resturaunt where myself and my management team would be at 1pm, he said he'd "try" to make it which was the first red flag, and then of course he didn't show. I'm a CEO that owns majority of the entertainment industry in my city, and he blew his chance at a sit down that had a 75% success rate since I'm always actively looking to expand - but he's unfortunately the normal.

I don't believe those gurus are fake, I simply believe they understand that there is a literal 1% chance, if that, that a customer of your course will actually apply everything you're teaching, have the right circumstances in life at that moment and not give up after 2 months. It's free $ because they essentially do what gyms do - sell to people who are temporarily motivated and then maintain the course for the elites who stick with it.

Guarantee this guy drops his own online corse very soon.
Step 1 tell audience to not believe other corses
Step 2 pander to audience and gain a key group of followers
Step 3 sell them your personal corse

He’ll probably call it RUSTLERS UNIVERSITY, $49.99 a month

Tbh if everyone was to follow the advices of these gurus then by now we would have been all millionaires, and from a competition standpoint of view why would they want more competition. It makes it harder for them to earn millions so yeah they will most definitely use scammy tactics to lure in more people and give way less viable that they are marketing.

And they’ll mix in good advice with bad just so that it stops you from thinking they are scamming you.

I play piano and I keep getting this stupid ad from some con artist talking about how piano takes way less time to learn than you think. I decided to just check it out to see what redundancy is being promoted and the price for the course was 9000 DOLLARS. It's ridiculous and even more sad that a man who dedicated a lot of time to playing well would decieve desperate beginners into such a scummy course. For those who are learning or want to learn an instrument, never take those courses!!! Obviously there are actual great courses by very trustworthy experts who don't charge a ridiculous amount but never go to something that costs a stupid amount like that. Practice really does make perfect. Your speed in progress is all up to how much you practice, if you dedicate 8 hours a day for a year you might as well have become professional grade by the end of that year's practice throughout techniques and skills you worked. You obviously don't have to go at that pace though do whatever is comfortable for you and move up past your comfort zone to further challenging things as you get more confident. Instruments aren't a talent and don't make you talented. It is a skill that was learned and developed through discipline. Anyone can get there, I believe in all of you who want to pick up an instrument or already play one and have a changed perspective on life.
