How Long Does It Take To Fly Your Own Plane From Florida to New York? We Did It In Our Cirrus SR22

Our family decided on a whim to spend winter break and New Year in Florida. The three of us hopped in our Cirrus SR22, which is an incredibly capable and perfect plane for this trip. Round trip was just under 2,000 miles and this video is our return leg from Melbourne, FL to Farmingdale, NY. We left at 10AM and arrived around 5PM with a 90 minute stop for lunch and fuel. Could've made it non stop for under 5 1/2 hours but our bladders say otherwise.

I'm in the process of getting my PPL. I can't wait to take my family on a flight. I watch this video for motivation and taking notes on your communication to ATC. Your awesome dude. Keep the videos coming...

I love your wife's facial expressions. She seems afraid and proud at the same time. What an awesome way to spend time with your family sir. I'm impressed. Travel safe.

Happy that I just stumbled across your channel. I finished my EASA PPL(A) last week and really looking forward to fly in the U.S. maybe this summer. Love your content. You are an inspiration.

Greetings from a fellow German/Korean Aviator based in Germany!

Managing your fluid intake is an important part of pre-flight preparation. Drinking a pint of coffee before a five hour flight is about as daft as it gets. Coffee is a diuretic (A diuretic is any substance that promotes diuresis, the increased production of urine)
The atmosphere tends to get drier with altitude so you should take in small quantities of water constantly during sustained flights to avoid dehydration. A guide to your level of hydration is the color of your urine. The darker it is the more dehydrated you are.
Ensuring the physical health of pilot and passengers is just as important as all pre-flight checks.

Nice video! Much better way to fly than with the airlines and TSA headaches. ✈️Family memories is what it’s all about.

Great video. I think I have watched all your videos. You do a great job on them. Can't believe you made it 1000 miles with a single bathroom break. Keep up the great work and the videos coming. I am a fan. We fly from our home at Lake Possum Kingdom to Freemont Colorado every few weeks. A fun 3 1/2 hour flight.

Another great video and editing. I flew my Cardinal from Spruce Creek, FL (Daytona) to central New Jersey last year in 6.5 hours of flying time. Also stopped in NC for bladder 😎 and lunch.

Awesome video! At 10:43 when you showed the windmill farm, that’s my home town! Elizabeth City, NC. Stop into the Coast Guard base (ECG) sometime! Great folks over there and the aviation students at the local college do pancake breakfast’s from time to time. Happy flying!
