'I don’t matter', the Queen said when told her Platinum Jubilee cake had been positioned to face the press, rather than her. 'I think I might just put a knife in it,' she added before doing just that with an enormous knife.

The event was held in Sandringham House on the eve of the Queen's 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne.
