This story is so funny and this man told it very well. I've been watching this on repeat for a dozen times now!

Sigh. This story was wonderful. The simple fact that those 2 americans didn't recognize her probably made that day very enjoyable for her. She was a good person.

I've heard that her sense of humor is priceless and this story is a perfect example.

This story relates how mischievous HM was and how gracious she was . Had she told them they would have been embarrassed. She saved them from that. She had a photo taken with them as well so later they don’t regret they didn’t include her. A gift given to them by HM of the value they would later recognise. I pray she rests in peace. This is such a lovely story, I will never forget it. I do hope Richard writes a book about his time with the queen. He is such a lovely chap, I think many people would love to hear some of the stories he has to tell. His book would be such a lovely reminder of how funny she was, and just a genuine person . Bless her on her journey to be with Prince Philip. She will be remembered for many many years to come . With love and affection 🕊❤️🕊

I've listened to this at least 10 times! What a natural orator this officer is! I played this for my dad too and he has watched it many times as well.

When I first saw this my first thought was "god bless the Queen".
She was an absolute legend, and will continue to live on in our hearts, along with all the amazing stories and things she has done over the years.

The queen's father helped up my great aunt when she slipped on an icy path on Arthur's seat in Edinburgh she didn't realise who he was at first but got a shock when she did !

I can imagine it must have been so refreshing for the Queen to for once be asked to take a picture and be treated like a normal person..

I bet the Queen loved being treated as an ordinary person for possibly the only time in her life due to those genuinely innocent Americans.

Absolutely lovely story and well told by someone who really knew her. Shows she had a quirky sense of humour too which sometimes goes unnoticed

They should make a film just solely about her majesty's witt and sense of humor with actors playing her and dickie..

The story that cannot be bettered, surely? I really hope this story is being told across the pond, by two American tourists!

This is such a great story! As an American, I can’t say that I would have recognized her either if she was just out on a walk. The only pictures we would see of Her Majesty were those where she was dressed in her bright color dresses and hats. I imagine on this outing she was dressed as a lovely grandmother, but not to the nines. I think I would have liked her though.
