Another priceless moment of sharp wit and humour from Our Sovereign Lady: in the late 60s HM The Queen took The Prince Edward into town while vacationing at Sandringham. HRH wanted some gumdrops; the two of them entered the shop, The Queen wearing her Hermés scarf, another patron commented: "You look an awful lot like The Queen!"
Her Majesty replied: "that's most reassuring".

The Queen was on a walkabout and stopped in front of a woman, twenty-something, the woman's cellphone began to ring, from the confines of her purse. Her Majesty, without missing a beat, said: "You'd better get that - it could be someone important".
