In my videos I compare the 3.5 EcoBoost to the 2.7 liter EcoBoost. Both engines have their advantages and are great in different ways. Comment below! Thanks for watching!

I bought my 2011 f150 ecoboost 5 years ago with 80, 000 miles on it and it now has 438, 000 miles on the odometer and I can wholeheartedly say it’s been a pleasure to own. The only expensive problem I’ve had was the wire harness inside the transmission went bad at 380, 000 miles and it cost me $1500. I had 1 water pump, 2 4WD shift motors and the purge valve, and the rear door wire harness broke. I think all together it’s been approximately $2500 total repairs. Not too damned bad for 340, 000 miles of traveling. I grossed over $400, 000 with it so it doesn’t owe me a thing. I’ll buy another when it blows up.

Had a 2018 F150, 2021 F150, and 2024 Expedition. The Ecoboost 3.5 is a smooth and powerful engine. That's why I keep coming back to it. Good video!

Second 3.5 economist owner. 200k on first one. Yes had the rattle. I just kept on with it. Only thing needed to fix was a turbo waterline seal. Normal maintenance and yes I did too do full synthetic every 3-4K miles. Very strong. Very capable. Always worried but never left me stranded. Sold due to wreck. Bought 2020 3.5 eco again. More hp and more torque. Just impressive!

Dude, it seems like every question/concern that I have about these trucks, you have a video that addresses them. Well done.

When u consider they make a million trucks a year, the six sigma quality even at 100 ppm, is still going to find a defect. It’s internal components are fantastic, 6 bolt mains, forged crank ! It’s a great engine

I wasn’t a fan of the ecoboost before but I’ve changed my mind within the last few years. It’s a great engine, only thing kills these engines is lack of maintenance, great video! 👍😎

The dual fuel injector upgrade was the best idea ever. Great driving engine. Awesome engine for towing.

I see that the new 2021 3.5 eco boost is rated at 400 H.P. & 500 ftlbs of torque ! Wow 😱

Ive got a second gen 3.5 and no complaints on my end. Love the sound of the whistle when I accelerate on the highway. That said, I still ask people, why is Ford still having problems at all when they’ve been making trucks so long? Toyota came in with the 5.7L on the Tundra and it’s like bullet-proof. We should be saying the same about all the Big Three American Trucks.

I have a 2011 Ecoboost F-150, 107, 000 miles now. I do all the recommended maintenance changing the synthetic oil about every 5000 miles. No problems. Just had the rear axle seals replaced. The red paint still shines. The leather seats show very little age.

This is a great engine and premium engineering... I love mine and run amsoil signature series in it. I'd rather pay a little more for oil than motor and turbos. The people that are having issues could be running cheap oil and filters as well as going 10, 000 miles between changes. Ill never go over 5000 or 6000 miles regardless of recommendation. Good video man, keep it up!

I had the first generation 2011 3.5 and loved it. I had an issue at about 87, 000 with the plugs. Which it was relayed to me that Ford had recommended a plug change. I always used synthetic oil and considered it my forever truck. Well, my truck was murdered by a tree limb in my driveway, so I am forced to purchase a new vehicle. I tow a 22 ft center console (4100 lbs. loaded), spring summer and fall. I am thinking I will stick with the 3.5 because it has always, delivered the umph I need to get the boat on the highway. I also have to back it up my 90' inclined driveway. The truck was a bad ass!

Full syn oils and good oil filter either factory purlators or amsoil. The tiny oil ports needs full syn oil for long term service

I was a tech at Ford for four years, and l saw more 5.0 coyote engines in for oil burning, and a lot had the heads off, most of them had new long blocks installed trying to fix the issues

2019 Platinum 3.5L, full synthetic Mobil 1 oil with OEM Motorcraft filter. Change every 6, 000 miles and while rotating tires. All is well.

Agree 100% - any engine would die without proper service! Yes, ford offering "semi synthetic oil" use for it and do full flush - think every 3rd oil change or some like that - WTF? just use synthetic from the begin and short the oil the service under 5-6000 miles! Use OEM oil filters! Do not run it right a way when its cold - let it warm up, after heavy driving let it cool off around 5 min or at list drive last 5-10 min softly.

Proofed by: 5.7 hemi - truck went over 210000 miles, 6.0 Silverado HD over 240 000 miles, 5.7 tundra - 150 000 miles - all those truck engines were never opened up- minor knockings, no timing issues, no oil leaks, no engine lights

I have always been an ecoboost hater from the beginning. Give me a v8 I said. I have a 2017 ecoboost with a 10 speed in my work truck. And I absolutely love it. Want to buy my own for personal use of the prices ever come down.

V6, V8, OHC, OHV, turbo or NA they can all have design issues especially on a new clean sheet design. The 5.7 Hemi's like to chew up camshafts left and right due to oil starvation at idle. GM's LS likes to wear cylinders early and collapsing lifters due to the cylinders shutting down for fuel mileage. Like you said though, not all of them have issues but there are those that do. Some engine designs are excellent and run forever with minimal issues. The inline 6 for example. Good video!

I will say this, I would stay away from first generation 3.5L. The 3 valve V-8 Triton is a disaster when engine ages. Second generation is a fine engine. I love my 2.7L and use Motorcraft syn-blend. Third oil change I did oil analysis at 6, 250 miles on oil change. Analysis said I had enough TBN for an additional 3, 000 miles. I change my oil at about 10% left on meter. Love the truck, LOVE the engine. The most this truck pulls is 6, 000 LBS. the thing I see, and maybe I am getting older, I see these young men and women floor their truck every chance they get. Take care of engine it will take care of you! Peace
