When to consider doing a laparoscopy? What to expect from doing a laparoscopy

Hello Dr. Crawford, I was just diagnosed today with a 4 cm ovarian cyst on my right ovary. I had gone to the gyno since I have had intense pelvic pain for a month (the pain began on my last period.) The doctor said she was not worried about it and that it should pass with my next period. Is there any sort of diet to follow to manage this/things to avoid so the cyst moves along or to prevent further development?

What about hormonal therapy for cyst?
I've heard there is risk from breast cancer if you use hormonal therapy, is that true?

Could you do a follow up video giving details about how things work if you have had to have one of your ovaries removed? That would be great!

I came to your channel about two years ago now, when I first found out I had a basketball sized ovarian cyst. It was thankfully benign, full of 3 Liters of fluid. I looked pregnant when I had it. You were so informative!! I was put at ease. All ended well since then. Initially I was going to lose one of my ovaries and they weren’t sure about the second. I know we’d talked about potentially me having to lose both and not being able to have children. Thankfully all ended well and I got to keep both of my ovaries and my fertility wasn’t impacted. I was 29 at the time. The only thing that I did notice since then is that now when I have periods, when I’m cramping, when I shift my body (I’m a side sleeper), it feels like my ovaries are shifting around. It’s very painful and feels exactly how it felt post op during the two week recovery as they had to cut up my ovaries and sew it back together. Could this be scar tissue? Is that even a thing? Would it be possible?

Thanks for the information. I was on my period when I had an ultrasound done and they found what is “possibly a corpus luetum cyst”. What are the usual days in the cycle that they come and go? Thanks in advance.

In june i was taking IVF shots but the cycle was cancelled since the follicals were not growing except for one which was too big..my dr. Suggested that i should go on with hysteroscopy and prepare for the next cycles. After 3 weeks a noticed a mass on my lower abdomen, could feel it when I touch, I did an ultrasound and there was two big cyst on botj ovaries, the biggest on the right 14cm. We are still woundering what is this cyst and why did it grow too fast.

Thank you for this video! I used Clomid for the first time and I ended up getting a cyst after an unsuccessful cycle of trying to get pregnant. This is my 2nd cycle and I’m still on Clomid; just had an ultrasound and the cyst is still there and so is another (smaller) one 🫠 but my follicle is still growing (slower than the first round with Clomid). I was really worried until I saw this video - great timing!

If you’re working to freeze your eggs and have cysts that are producing estrogen and they are waiting for it to come down before they are willing to have you complete cycle…is there anything you can do to help decrease the estrogen level?

Hi! I was wondering if it would be possible for a follicular cyst that was large enough (or just several follicular) to cause ovarian torsion (causing pain leading to ER) to then rupture leading to self resolution of the torsion and not require surgery?

How many ivf cycles should do before giving up

Uncanny timing - I just had an ultrasound and a 25mm cyst was on my left ovary. I had done a stimulation cycle which was cancelled 3 weeks ago, and my doctor says I should have had a period by now. After finding the cyst today, she said that was probably delaying my period and to just wait it out. Is a cyst of that size common after a cancelled cycle? It was cancelled because I only had 3 eggs mature of 12 AFC. When you cancel a cycle, what happens to all those mature and immature eggs? There were at least 6 immature and 3 mature on the day I stopped meds.

I can’t stop crying. I feel so scared and sick. I feel like I need to throw up and can’t stop crying and shaking.

I saw the er and they said I have an ovarian cyst but not what size or type. Is this supposed to feel this way?

The private clinic we are now with said my partner had to have a cyst removed before we could proceed. It was removed via laparoscopy but another one has grown back.

Hey Natalie! I have a cyst on my left ovary that is around 4.5cm. I’m on a wait list to get this removed. Could the cyst cause infertility? Thank you
