Our Egyptian girl, how proud I am of her. I saw many Egyptian female pilots today and this really encouraged me. I wish her success and progress. I think she will be a great pilot in the future . 🥺♥️🇪🇬🇪🇬

"The plane feels so much lighter". Haha Congratulations! I remember my first solo well. I was singing "I'm flying the plane by myself". lol Now I'm a Captain at Southwest Airlines and still having a blast. PS...I still talk out loud to myself in certain circumstances. It helps. Congrats once again. Welcome to the friendly skies. :)

I love the way she talks to herself. I do the same thing in stressful situations and it really helps. Great job!

I was nervous to look at the comments. I am pleased that the professionalism of fellow aviators was maintained. This was a great video to watch!

Congratulations Roula. Never forget my first 3 solo landings, 2 touch and go and 3rd full stop. I remember I was shaking until I parked the plane and performed the final check shutting down the engine. Several people stopped by to congratulate me during debriefing.

Amazing!!! So inspiring (especially for for muslim women like me having to battle racism and misogyny in flying schools)...I've just started with 5 hours but have been feeling demotivated. This video had me in tears, I will get back in.... Well done Roula and the Sling academy for showcasing this, its so much more than just a first solo video🎉🎉🎉

So much fun watching her solo! I remember my first solo in a 1959 Cessna 172 in 1964. A high five to the instructor.

My first solo student as a Flight Instructor crashed a Piper Colt after I got out, removing 225 lbs from the aircraft and reminding her what changes she would notice with only her in the plane; she landed 50 feet short of the runway and flipped the aircraft over on its back. Zero wind day early morning, no thermals, sun to her back, and had 15 hours in her log book and performed 4 perfect landings before I let her go. Her skills were good; she was rested and emotionally ready. The field was a grass strip 3, 000 feet long with no trees or wires. She was 20 years old, mature, not injured, and had crawled out of the plane by the time I had run to help. I still wonder what I missed or could have done to make her more ready? The handheld radio for the instruction on the ground would have been helpful.
Some things get better, and some things get worse. There are way too many accidents caused by pilot errors. In general, women seem safer due to not taking chances, whereas Alpha men are more confident and take more risks. Their first year of flying may be the safest after they get their license. I have seen IFR Flight Instructors with a student teaching in IFR conditions, and after they landed, I spotted all the static vents plugged up with wax when the plane had been washed and waxed. Bad preflight can kill you. A flight aways begins before you leave home, even two or three days before you must ensure you are physically and mentally ready to fly.

Loved it. She's smart, well-taught and very relatable. Very well-done video too.
