If someone is under the illusion that these things are done by one community, please get a grip!
Unless you live under a rock, you should know that all communities have their respective bad apples.
Targeting a single community is completely unacceptable.

It’s the lack of assimilation and the sheer volume of ppl, changing Canada. I was on a bus waiting in line and a group of Indian men just forced themselves on board being completely disrespectful and loud, an all to common site

You're absolutely wrong. International students have no right to protest. They came as temporary and if you don't qualify just leave. I was also an international student here. Take your protest to India, sir ji. Enough of this BS.

If you're moving to Canada by leaving India and going to someone else's place, make sure you make them comfortable with you. They didn't invite you, so it's your job to make your place there and be better. Most people leave India because of reservations, racism, casteism, low quality of life, etc. So if you're going somewhere, at least try to be a better version of yourself. People in Canada are great and friendly towards others, so please don't give them a reason to hate Indians.

The problem is that the so called students who come to Canada are village boys who have never seen a world outside their own little village. People who directly get PR from India, such as Express Entry immigrants, are much more educated and sophisticated. But it's Canada's fault for giving visas to "students" who can't even jot two sentences in English. What did they think will happen by inviting these guys. They're cracking down now but things might get a little worse before they get better as these village boys think they can protest their way into a work permit extension and PR.

Everything you said is true, bro. My friend from Punjab was telling me how he saved $80-90 by not tapping Presto, and he also regularly shoplifts from stores. He owns an iPhone 15 Pro Max (512GB, lol). If I were Canadian, I would also be pissed off by these habits of our fellow desi people. Guys, please follow the rules otherwise, be ready to be treated as third-class citizens in this country.

The curry smell stereotype is so true. It takes simple steps to avoid the smell, like wearing different clothes while working in the kitchen, not entering the kitchen before leaving home, and keeping jackets separate . It leaves a good impression when someone smells nice! 🙂 Glad someone brought it up.

I have a friend here in Canada who refuses to follow the basic rule of picking up after his dog, and I feel ashamed because of it. If you're here enjoying the clean air and roads, please have the decency to follow the rules. It's irritating and sometimes even frustrating.

New Indian, Do not say thank you and do not follow queue or line. one Indian push me in COSCO but did not say SORRY. Learn manners. In India it is jungle rule not here. Nothing wrong to learn it. I came from India 35 years ago and learn it. I was one off you.

In my experience a large amount of international students from India in my town don’t know how to shower or use deodorant. The smell in the aisles at a store when you pass them is unimaginable. It’s one thing to be a bit sweaty after a long day but to smell like you haven’t showered in a week is something else…

Canadian are normally nice. It is Indians not adopting canadian values and showing indian behavior on roads and everywhere therefore we get this. Always looks yourself first before putting fingers on others. If you have to celebrate holi, diwali, stay in India. In canada, be canadian and celebrate canadian events.

Well Indians are racist too (in addition to Casteist). Indians from North East, foreigners from Africa are often given racist remarks in India. We just heard of some Gujaratis protesting allotment of a house by government to a Muslim family in their neighbourhood. In my personal experience things are relatively much better in west.
We notice racism only when it gets done to us; don't we?

India should learn that when you are in rome do as roman do. Nobody invited us (Indian) in Canada so don't act entitled in foreign countries

Makes Sense. Also, talking aloud in public transit in Hindi or regional languages doesn’t make sense. Local born Canadians nowadays hate travelling in public transit because of the overcrowded loud South Asian crowd.

I went to high school in Brampton in the early 80's and there were no people from India anywhere... it was very much a white anglo town, and then I moved to Montreal for 25 years to work as a fashion designer. (I remember the shock of flying into Toronto on business and walking outside to get a taxi... there was an endless line of Indian guys wearing Turbans, waiting by their taxis. It was a very strange feeling, as I was not sure if I was in Canada or India.) About 10 years ago, I moved back to Ontario to live in Guelph and had heard the joke about Brampton becoming 'Bramladesh' by people at the dog park, and in the past 5 years, (since they built the massive temple in Guelph) the place has turned into a mini India, as EVERY house put up for sale, is bought by a family from India, with 4 or 5 cars in a 2 car driveway, (strangely, as soon as they move into the house, they all rip out the asphalt driveway and replace it with white concrete??) they seem to be a tribal people and every house is filled to capacity, as the husband and wife are with their kids, the brother and his wife and their parents, all living together. (They are friendly people and they don't cause any trouble... my only issue is the intense stench of spices from their house that fill the air 24/7 to the point that you cannot sit in the back yard or open a window, without being punched in the face from the powerful odour of spices!)

And just another friendly tip to people from all other countries around the world don't come into Canada stare at the locals and begin jabbering of in your own language most Canadians know when someone is speaking about them even if it's in another language we find that to be rude and disrespectful Canadians are known worldwide for being freindly and polite BUT even we have our limits thank you for your time.

This mainly applies to Punjabi, not all Indian students. It is mainly their community that is involved in gangs and frauds in Canada. Also, this comment is not only to point fingers at Punjabis, but the fact remains that theirs is a very visible community in Canada, and often makes the local news for all the wrong reasons. Unfortunately, for native Canadians, the moment you identify as an Indian, they immediately think you are from a certain Indian community, which many are not. This is creating hatred for even those Indians who are not from Punjab but are from other parts of India. Punjabis need to get a grip on their youth in Canada!

Agree with your points. Its not like every indian does these things but a recognisable number are doing these.
Bad odour is quite evident among several indians especially guys. This needs to be corrected first of all
