I think Indians want to take photo with foreigners not just a random white guy. I saw lots of indians taking picture with other asians like Korean, chinese, japanese.

A lot of Asians ( not just Indians) seem to think Westerners especially caucasians are cool and aspire to imitate them. I feel its an "inferiority complex attitude". Just look at how many Advertisements for "whitening skin care" products are found in India, China, Malaysia, South Korea and Indonesia. In most asian countries " fair skin/ white skin" is deemed more beautiful than brown or black or yellow skin. This so sad. We asians still think the ( former) white colonists are superior to asians.😔

Indian here. I won't sugar coat anything.

Indians have a special position for European looking people. They would like to take pictures as they perceive them as beautiful, and in some ways superior.

You won't get the same treatment for example if you are East Asian or African. Most fascination with east Asians is due to the fact that they 'look' different. So maybe some attention is given.

But it's just what the average Indian thought process is.

do Indians prefer white and pale skin? I wonder if this is related with the colorism.

The last guy was soo true. People in in India thinks that if he is a foreigner then he would be more smarter, more handsome and more kind but that is not true

Same thing happens if you travel in rural China, Japan etc and look white / black / brown . It's curiosity mixed with no concept of personal space haha

Colonial mentality. Thinking that white is beautiful and prestigious. Status symbol.

That last guy was so sweet, cute & handsome!

In 2024, I will be visiting India for the first time & I was feeling nervous, but after watching this, I no longer feel that way. I have found Indian people to be so kind & accepting.

As a white person, I agree with him. We are all equal. ❤️

I've been asked many times by mainland Indians to take a photo with them mistaking me a northeast Indian as a foreigner. 🤣

This is not entirely true, very few people do this(don't no why people always have wrong image about India). If you talk about taking pictures there's no white/black or American, we are excited to see every person who doesn't live in India as it's not common for people to see a foreigner in daily life. It's human nature to look at someone who's different from people you meet in day to day life(like don't you look at someone you find pretty?), be it in India or any other country. And yes don't form a mindset about India from yt videos, India has grown so much we're not same India from 100 years ago. :D
