The guy at MS who thought this change in Explorer would be better in W11 should be fired. Why take away some great options already available ! (in the name of Modernization ) and take a step back instead of forward. They should at least give the option to go back. I refuse to upgrade to W11 just for this reason....

This worked at first for me but I must have done something that messed things up...now when I right click the arrow next to the Home (little house) I get a different drop down menu that doesn't contain the control panel or any of the drop down stuff that was on it when I first did it.
Could anyone please let me know what I must've done for this to happen? I must've changed a setting that inadvertently caused this. Thanks.

Yeah Ima keep staying on windows 10 for now, aside from the very top that looks nothing like file explorer in win 10. I dont get it, if it aint broke dont fix it atleast give us options! But it seems like a trend these days for lots of companies anyways, to make stuff worse, try less and forget about innovating their products.

Thank you!!! It's not as though I completely hate the W11 file explorer, it's just that it won't let me type specific addresses or even navigate to the ones that appear in as drop-downs from the address bar. Nothing I tried in W11 fixed that, but yourr simple W10 reversion is perfect.

Merci many thanks, so easy and simple. I need W10 explorer to update information (details windows, usually on the right side) in one or more selected jpgs in one job, and it's not possible with W11 without using "details" by right clic. many thanks.

I think what happened (the reason I can't do this change anymore) is the HP desktop I bought didn't have the updates installed yet.
I noticed when I first hooked it up it also had the old Photos app with the spot fix that everyone loved but after the update that's gone too. I wish I would have known this when I got the computer...I would have turned off the automatic updates as soon as I turned it on.

I was using TIWIN11 to revert some changes but recent update broke my address bar ribbon. Can no longer drag/drop files in the bar. So I guess this is my work around for now. TY
