I miss Anthony a lot today. Maybe in another life, he'd be Vietnamese and we'd sit on the sidewalk drinking cheap draft beer and eating grilled pork noodle together. Rest in peace, friend.

Vietnamese seems so cool as people. They have been through horrendous history yet still stay positive and strong.

In my mind he moved here. And he lives here still.

I live in SE Asia and let me just say when he sat down with Obama in Hanoi that was when I got hooked. He didn't come here with a sense of bravado or arrogance like most Americans or most White people. But he is just full of curiosity and he didn't laugh at our food or our English. In short, he is a true man whom we have lost and missed dearly.

I am a Hanoian. This episode made me cry even though it was made a long time ago. It reminds me of a pain that I have tried to forget from my fathers. And stills remind me of a past that is deeply ingrained in our DNA: war has always existed and that is why we love peace and hospitality so much. We still laugh even we cry.

For those talking about the war, I will say that We Vietnamese and the Us are still friends and we have to live on. BUT WE WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT HAPPENDED IN THE HISTORY TIMELINE. LETS GO VIETNAM❤

Your channel has depicted a very Vietnamese part. Feel sophisticated and beautiful like the way Vietnamese people feel about Hanoi. There was deep research and understanding behind it and I really appreciate this coming from the production team, both in terms of sound, visuals, story, .... and, most importantly, the feel.

So far my favourite episode, great to see that President Obama made an appearance on the show. It was interesting to learn more about Vietnams history and it was emotional how the lady expressed the overall sentiment of the people to let it go and no to war and not to happen again, if only other countries can do the same

Anthony's voice is a mix of David Attenborough and Martin Sheen in the movie, Apocalypse Now. Calm and collected. Like a dry and restrained poetry. Always leaves for thought and curiosity. We all miss him.

Nobody cooks like the Vietnamese, the culinary devas of the ‘Foodiverse’… the Moroccans run a very close second….

"Gen William Westmoreland who commanded the US forces here in the mid 60s famously said "the oriental doesn't put the same high price on life as does a westerner. Life is plentiful. Life is cheap in the orient." It was an extraordinarily grotesque and wrong-headed observation from a guy who if nothing else was expected to understand the enemy on the battlefield. He could not, it turned out, do even that. Maybe I hope we are a little bit smarter now."
