I've been living in New York City since 1983. I love it here. It's a hard place to survive, and NYC in the 80s, , , forget it. But, I love this city.

Well done video. I would like to mention the victims of 9/11 which are never mentioned in the 'body count'. There are now more people dead from cancers and respiratory illnesses as a result of the 9/11 attack than died on that day as a direct result.

One thing most history channels don't do enough of: population.
For a topic like this, maybe a small population update graphic every era?

Kudos to you for creating this video! i enjoyed watching it and how it beautifully aligns with the knowledge I've gained from The Island Podcast on Instagram. It's fantastic to see different perspectives converging to paint a vivid picture of New York's history. Could you please let me know where I can find the images used in the video? I'm eager to explore and learn more. Thank you!

I’ve never been there. It looks scary. Too many people. Too many building. But if I went there I’d want to visit the library, museum and park.

I always dreamed of living in New York. But 10 to 14 at Dannemora wasn't what I had in mind 🗽

What epoch is the one shown in the image at 7:35? I'm fascinated with NYC story, and I'm trying to find out paintings, pictures, etc, that show the progression of the buildings. The painting at 7:35 is the first one I see that is densely populated, but without sky scrapers.

I always love to search for the basic reasons when someone or something catch my attention. I applied for a faculty position in NYC, but was not sure why it pulling a Climate Scientist turned Entrepreneur pulling into its territory. May be in the last statement of the video, I got the answer of my query. Thanks for preparing and sharing the video.

This is a great video. This video too shows how independent study is needed regarding studying.
The video does not address the attacks on black people in 1863.
