A friend of mine volunteered for the Central Park Conservancy. When we first walked through the park together she said "everything in this park is man-made". I was kinda disappointed but not too surprised. After seeing how much work goes on in the backend, I'm the opposite, impressed.

I saw Municipal Waste open up for Exodus and Anthrax at Irving Plaza on April 20th, 2013 and got a high-five from Tony Foresta while I was crowd-surfing to the front.

Great doc but I'm seriously trying to understand the narrator saying the Dutch did not want to colonize New Amsterdam but this space where they literally started changing the geography via canal building, was called within minutes, by the same narrator, their colony. 😑😑

Slave constructed new Amsterdam.. anni don’t see any signs of the y’all giving any credit to our ancestors for the hard labor to make you people have a city to enjoy.. but the most high creator is watching

Great documentary, but the audio is too low. I can barely hear it!

"New York after the Duke of York" hey? And the Duke of York, what was he named after, then? Funny to name a city after a man who was named after a city. I would have thought they'd just name New York after old York in a more direct way.

That line is always a bunch of crap I've gone out looking for pizza at 4am in Manhattan and had to walk 35 blocks for nothing. It does sleep and it sleeps often... Every city "sleeps".... A city that never sleeps you can get food within 10 blocks at 4:00 in the morning. I couldn't even find a donut at 4 in the morning... Been there over 200 times it shuts down at about 3am... Are there nightclubs and hidden little things going on sure but not if you want to go get something to eat. Yes if you want to walk down 25 streets and over 17 and up 12 possibly. If you know where you're going. But it's not as easy as walking out your door the way they make it sound...

Though technically Statue of LIberty is in NJ, its always attached to NY and its always seen in movies if they show NY they mostly show that big ass statue.
