We view today's problems of immigration, homelessness, poverty, political corruption, civil strife as unique. In truth they are the story and history of America. What is unique is how we confront and manage these obstacles in our time.

With proper maintenance, the Brooklyn Bridge is expected to last 1000 years. That's engineering!

For five days (of lovely weather) May, I walked Manhattan. I figure about 350 blocks worth. Armed with guide books, I loved Broadway's buildings from this era. Fav--Hotel McAlpin, 34th and Broadway--massive.

We are here again! Only the mega rich are tech and the gap is equally as wide.

This Narrator did the Gilded Industrialists Documentaries that I've watched and I enjoy his voice. 🍀

My County Kerry lineage came in my Great Grandparents, whom met in Chicago, though both were from Kerry, and moved to Omaha, my grandmother returning to Chicago.
The other side of my Irish, was already here, founding Lynchburg, VA, prior to 1776. For this I am DAR, an uncommon qualification for the Irish, and one I've often thought of (pardon my lower mind) with a Mona Lisa Smile towards the Arrogant Brit Americans.

... I don't spend much time in that thought, but feel the energy of the vast IRish 9f this USA flow through when I do.

N9 question we leave all Lower Mind behind when we make our Transition back to our full NonPhysical State, "perhaps some energy here in Physical reaches such Momentium, some of it may actually slip through too.

God Bless the Irish, eternally ... 💫

2023 and people who live in Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island still, to this day, consider Manhattan as 'The City".

I wish I had a better memory of NY City and Central Park, but I don’t! Yes it is nice to see the trees and break from the concrete jungle, but my experience was more reality. My first walk through Central Park was during a business trip. A colleague and I were walking a trail and I kept seeing what I thought were Squirrels scurrying in the underbrush next to us in the Park. Then we sat on a table in front of an open field of grass. A black Blob caught our eye hoping in the grass so we went to inspect. It was a black bird hopping and struggling to cart away a huge Rat he had caught. Then I looked closer at what I thought was Squirrels, and discovered the bushes were infested with RATS. From there we walked from our park side Hotel to the convention arena. Walking past multitudes of smelly and disgusting peep show booths being swabbed down wall to wall after each 5 minute occupant. I remember thinking I would rather starve then have this guys nasty job. Passing Cardboard box shanties and a huge Black guy standing on a busy sidewalk pissing in front of the Time Warner Building during a busy broad daylight sidewalk. This was just a couple things seen that day. What I thought interesting is most of the locals didn’t even notice as if they were immune. Then returning that evening to be harassed by the thugs perched on every subway stairwell rail. This was in the late 90’s but was etched in my brain. I have since had no desire to ever return to NYC. I will finish watching this video and I’m sure there are really nice areas that maybe I didn’t get to see, but that first memory I had wasn’t a very good one!

You call it a great democratic city, but all Americans live here….whether demo, repub, or liberal. This is America. Do your research about “democratic cities”

This documentary is about New York City. Not New York. New York is a state. New York City is a city.
