naah don't presolder the pads, like ever, it's so dumb.
press the flex around the caps, flux it all and then solder the thing, presoldering will just make the whole thing that much more difficult

You're doing good but i feel like the tip you're using is slowing you down and making it more difficult. I feel like KU tip or chisel tip would be better for you.
Hey, take this as constructive criticism, you need to chill out, you bent the hell out of the shield and used a crap ton of thermal paste, enough for atleast 5 switch lites.
