At least this guy actually shows the process of soldering the mod chips on. Unlike the viewbotting parrots that just regurgitate steps they copy pasted from the internet and skip right over to the finished product.

I wanted to thank you for your guide. I just finished the mod with my switch after buying a microscope and practicing a while with SMD training kits before attempting the work myself.
You can only appreciate the work you do once you did it yourself, everything is so tiny and I'm always afraid to break something.
Thumps up, keep up the good work and guides !

I was smashing my head to the wall trying to figure out what was wrong with my first installation, and then I get to your video and the chip was empty, thank you verry much, it was very helpful!

Best tutorial out there, helped me so much even in just preparing to hack my Mariko model 😭😭😭
Spent ages looking for an install that doesn't already come with pre-installed software, then I found you were using the exact one I am, thanks a bunch!!!!

Where do you find the files to install? He shows you dragging them on to the mod but where do you get them to even drag them to the mod?

Thanks for this tutorial. I was able to hard mod my v1 switch. No more needing jigs !

The hardest parts were trimming the heatsink and reattaching the sd-card port. As for the points: Use a multimeter to check the continuity values of the resistors. Install the flex cable and recheck the values. If they aren't responding then you'll know they're not connected. And use good flux, best brand is Stirri v3-TF.

I followed your great video on a v1 patched switch and a v2 switch. I screwed up the v1 but v2 worked great. It was all tht practice from the v1 😂

Why do you put the soldering iron to 300c instead of 400c? I thought low heat high time kills the board and creates bad joints.

Your videos helped me a lot in my first attempts. Really wonderful work you are doing. My next project will be a switch from my first attempts where I accidentally ripped off a capacitator. Maybe you'll make a video about it at some point? Of course, only if you can find a switch with the problem somewhere

clean soldering dude! I'm about to buy this mod chip but I have a question that I hope you'll reply. Where do I get the file that you copy to the external drive at the beginning of the video? It'll help a lot thanks!!

Just wondering, if a modchip is installed on this Switch, could you factory reset it and then set it up without the need for joy-cons?

I've been repairing these consoles for years and what is the easiest soldering job for some is the exact opposite for others - destroyed cores due to incorrectly soldered modchips, modchips attached with super glue, etc

I had my chip installed but I don't think the person that installed it preloaded the software. My switch is stuck on NOSD screen any suggestions?

Hello! Just a quick question! At the 2:18 mark when you say to pre-tin the connector, is that the flux that you spread around it? Is that just to clean it off before the install? Thank you!

thanks for video. it is really great!
.. one question. what kind of magnifying glass stand or microscope stand for soldering do you use ..? I am not sure if I need really expensive microscope stand or just 10x glass stand with helping hands.
