Personally I prefer Alacritty, but for some reason the devs have issues with people using ligatures. No clue why, so I basically use use Kitty, because I like my ligatures, plus I can use images much easier in Kitty, and we all know the real endgame is pimping your neofetch.

I'm a fan of Yakuake for the quick stuff.
Press F12 for the drop-down terminal (which can be customised), tell it to update your system, then hide it with F12 while it does it etc

my favourite terminal is by far wezterm, its configured in lua with alot of nice and useful features

Sometimes I'm still shocked how little attention WezTerm gets. Written in Rust, deeply configurable in Lua, image protocol, active development with fast and friendly support... it really checks all the boxes. Sure, Kitty is similar in a lot of ways and I like Kitty, but I feel like when you mention Kitty, you have to mention WezTerm as well.

Glad to see you talking about kitty and putting it in the top 3

I've been using kitty for a few years but a couple of weeks ago I found myself a replacement: wezterm

GPU acceleration:yes
Written in:rust
Configured in: Lua

I'm a person who really like lua and this terminal is cool

I've comfortably settled for Black Box Terminal. Marvellously simple and beautiful and if you pair that up with nautilus-open-in-blackbox package and you won't find yourself lacking. Looks wonderful on both Gnome and Plasma.

I'm absolutely fine with Konsole. If I can type in commands and have autocomplete, I'm good.

been using st for around half a year. alot of people tell me that other terminals are better and all that but as long as it looks good and i can type commands its ok. (also it kinda goes well since i have most suckless applications)

Wow, I just knew Kovid Goyal as the calibre guy, and that was impressive enough. Dude's a beast.

From what I heard, foot seems to be one of the most popular choices on wayland. Alacritty does also work though. I just kinda wish there was also an st like terminal on wayland but so far I don't know of any

Docking the config file is absolutely convenient and a very smooth way to work the situation. I could not agree more, Brodie.

foot is a great lightweight terminal for wayland!

as someone who is more of a casual linux user for the last handful of years where linux isn't my daily driver, I really like kitty's heavily documented config file so kitty is what I stuck with.
