Finally glad to see someone mention the Red Dragon from Wills painting! I’m not familiar with the lore of D&D but I do know that the Duffer Bros do like to leave lots of clues for upcoming seasons in their current episodes. Just going off the show; the dragon from wills painting, Nancy’s vision description, the earthquakes in the upside down, and so many more clues. I didn’t know about Boris tho so now that I’ve learned that, I’m pretty much convinced that you’re correct with this theory in some capacity at least! Awesome stuff!!

The final villain monster they'll deal with will probably be the Thessalhydra that was mentioned in season 1. Bringing the villain creature story full circle. It's probably what Nancy seen in the vision Vecna forced her to see in season 4.

And Will's painting likely has something to do with it in some way.
