In the Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 Finale and ending, Vecna seemingly faces his demise by the hands of Eleven, Nancy, Steve & Robin but we then find out that he survived, presumably into Stranger Things Season 5. But how did he survive the final battle? And why did he just seemingly disappear from the pavement? Well, I may have an idea - And it might play into Stranger Things Season 5 as it has to do with the Mind Flayer itself.

I agree. Will can be the HOST for Vecna. It makes sense, since Vecna needs a new body, and Will plays an essential role, as the Duffer Brothers have said, in Season 5. Maybe Vecna has known this from the beginning. That's why when Vecna took Will in Season 1, he didn't kill him, but instead kept him as a vessel to which he can now use.

I have two theories on how Vecna disappeared so quickly before Nancy, Robin, and Steve got down to the front of the hose to discover his body gone. Either he used his mind to control some monsters or vines to carry him away quickly or he used his mind powers to levitate him away quickly.

And while using Will as an option to be possessed to use as a body, I think Vecna might use Max. By the point when her bones have healed, he will use his powers to heal her eyesight and then wake up in her body from the coma. He will pretend to be her to hear what the group is planning to do in order to stop him and while pretending to be Max, he will give ideas on what they can do in which it will reveal it's all a way to lure them into a trap. Everyone will start to realize that something is different that Max. Mostly her mom, El, and Lucas. For example, Max shows no interest to go on a movie date with Lucas. Vecna's excuse can be how they need to focus on stopping the war that's coming. El will decide to go into Max's mind to see what's going on with her and instead of Max, she sees Vecna there. El informs everyone this and says that he needs to go into his mind because she explains to everyone that when Vecna kills people, he absorbs their consciousness and they live in his mind. When El goes into Vecna's mind, she's in some sort of mind prison where she sees everyone else that Vecna killed: the neighborhood pets, Mrs. Creel, Alice, the lives at Hawkins lab, Chrissy, Fred, Patrick, even the people that were used to create the giant monster in season 3 like Heather and her parents. With this, it's possible that Billy could be there too. Even though he regained control of himself in his final moments in life, the infections was still in his body. It didn't get out of him like how we saw it happen to Will when Nancy did so at the end of season 2. Therefore, when Billy let out his dying breath in front of Max, I think that is when Vecna absorbed his consciousness. So this can be a way for Billy and Max to have closure.

But anyway, after almost a year since Vol 2 came out, I think I finally figured out where Vecna escaped to. The Upside Down version of Hawkins Lab. Other than the Creel House, the lab is the only other place in Hawkins that's personal to him. This time, he's definitely going to have monsters guarding the whole place. And I think his place to do his mind wandering thing (like when he was in the attic) will be in the Rainbow Room.

Even though I FULLY agree that Will is a great host for Henry Creel, I think Max is more of a host since she has nothing left in her mind. It's like the creatures of the Upside Down, their minds are fully under his control so why can't Max as well. Also, just to point out, the Demogorgon was just roaming normally throughout it's world; ignoring Henry fully. Is he the reason to why these beings are cold hard predators like he wants it to be or am I overthinking to much?

Hello guys I just want to express my theories here
I think vecna dissapeared the way the demogorgon used to did in s1, he just jumped from real world to the upside down, I'm sure vecna did the same but to the real world from the upside down.
I don't think he lost his physical form, I think he's just reaaaally injured, to the point assuming some leaks are real, he will start taking parts of peoples bodies to repair his. There was this leak going around about the idea of an scene where a guy is running without his arm in an apocaliptic hawkins scenario.
Or maybe he will use max's body since there's nothing in her mind rn.

Even Will said it himself.
But it explains why "Will" rejects normal humans.
Like seriously, think about how Vecna/001 told 011 how how saw and felt about humans, people not like them. They disgust him.

Now think back to the scene in the classroom when the girls trying to play footsie with Will.
The look he gave her, how he cringed away from her.

The scene in the van with Mike.
Shii, the way his brother looked at him in the review mirror.

I understand, everyone talking about he's gay and stuff.

But seriously, think about it, re watch the entire show.

Vecna is USING WILL. If Will can still feel Vecna, then Vecna can still feel Will & they still have that connection.

And like in the beginning, Will isn't going to say ANYTHING until it's too late.
