Hi guys, welcome to another food diary! This time we travelled to Lisbon in Portugal to try out all the local food and delicacies, as well as doing some sightseeing too. We tried the popular salt cod fritters (bacalhau) and meat croquettes, and also went to a restaurant with one of the best views in Lisbon.

This is part one in Portugal, so stay tuned for part two coming soon!

Don't forget to like and subscribe for more future food videos!

Portugal I think is one most cultural places in Europe. The people, food, atmosphere and building make this country special.

I once worked for the Disney College Program in Orlando Fl. It was a work/study program for young men and women from all over the world. Some of the finest young people there were from Portugal. I never forgot how well spoken and polite they were. One even gave me a bottle of Port before he left. I never opened that bottle just to remember them. My wife and I hope to go to Portugal and Spain in the near future and it would be great to catch up with some of them if possible. They are sure to be a lot older now but I am sure they are still awesome.

Sagres is a national beer. It's actually very curious. People from the south of Portugal drink Sagres, people from the north drink Super Bock, another national beer. If you go to the north you'll mostly find Super Bock on the supermarket and on establishments. It's actually pretty funny, because northerns are usually not big fans of Sagres and southerners are usually not big fans of Super Bock. Surprise, surprise, I'm from the north and nothing goes better with a nice bolinho de bacalhau than a really nice and cold Super :)

I'm from Portugal! Actually from the exact city you're in, glad you enjoyed our food :D If you're still here you should try Pasteis de Belém, they're very good, my favorite. What did you think about the people here?

Sagres is originally from the region of Sagres. So, yeah, it's a national beer. Well, sort of.
