Portugal may be one of the least visited countries in Europe, but don't blame it on the food. We spent 4 days eating our way from Porto to Lisbon and back. Here's our Portugal Food Tour in which our American Teens find the best food in Portugal.

Pro tip: never start a video about Portugal with a spanish flag in the background. Or anything spanish around as a matter of fact

I stumbled upon your video because I love to see people reacting to portuguese food. As per your search (and what you've written in the video's description) Portugal is one of the least visited countries in Europe (though in the website you've been sharing you can see it ranks 10th). So where did you get that idea? :) it is in a very good position and actually went up the ranking on the last years. About the food names (for example, the Tripas) you'll find that portuguese people are very proud of their gastronomy so you're pulling a trigger for naming it another thing :) I've seen people asking why you ate such thing in Aveiro. You did good, Aveiro is the place to try a Tripa Doce. And a good "pastel de nata" or "nata" will be good anywhere, even though in Lisbon you'd find the famous Pastéis de Belém, yea. You need to come back and try more food, Portugal has an endless list of traditional dishes (from Feijoada à Transmontana to Bacalhau/Polvo à Lagareiro) and conventual sweets (from Ovos Moles to Pastel de Tentúgal) you and your family need to try. Some of the best dishes, in my opinion, are not found in the big cities but on the interior regions. Also, check Francesinha's story and why it's stuffed like that :) nevertheless, and with all the respect, thanks for sharing your experience and I'm glad you enjoyed! (Note: please, as a lot of people already said, remove any spanish references! The comparison usually arouses annoyance. We may be small in the map but we have a big history and nation 😂)

Yeah this time, only "street food". Next time you have to try the old tradicional Portuguese cuisine. You'll be delighted for sure. Thanks for the video. 🤗

You know a chicken is good when you hear that the operation is slow and there is one person who doesnt really care for chicken and you still give high marks. ahaha. Thanks for visiting, by the way that francesinha didn't look that good. If you ever here again I'd recommend "Café Santiago" they even bring a saucer on the side for extra gravy (which is home made and 10/10) and you can always order fries on the side so they dont get soggy. Thanks for the visit !

Yeah I would’ve passed on the sardines lol.

The nata must’ve been delicious.

I love trying different foods. Did you go on an official food tour or did you find these places your self?

That’s so cool that the one place cooked to order. I hope to get to Portugal one day so this was a great taste of the country for me!

Every region has a different and unique food speciality, for example you must try two of my favorite things:

the Choco Frito (fried cuttlefish - a speciality from the Setubal region), i love it drizzled in lemon juice with french fries and a salad on the side. It's a perfect dish for a summer lunch!

and then the Leitão à Bairrada, which is a crispy little piglet topped with the most amazing pepper sauce you will ever try! (very famous in the Mealhada)

I'm salivating just thinking about them!
