"I Will Get You Home."

Holy CRAP, David Tennant can deliver such a simple line with so much power.

After being so emotionally closed off from the companions during the last few years, it's nice to see the Doctor expressing and showing affection again. It reminds me of how Eleven was kissing people's heads all the time and even how Twelve got to the point where he kissed Clara's hand before she faced the raven. Those aspects of the Doctor are starting to return.

I LOVE that simple gesture of grabbing Donna's hand to reassure her and then the small kiss to make sure she's okay. I can't imagine 10 doing that but it just works with all that's happened.

Their emotional connection, his support of Donna, the way she is so courageous, I absolutely LOVE THEM BOTH SO MUCH

I love the fact that Donna's first thought was to worry about Rose, and soon afterwards she went into combat mode so that she could return to her daughter

The way Fourteen is so much more comfortable saying the word 'love', his willingness to listen and learn from humans, how he reassures Donna here... I watched Tennants original run when it aired, back when I was ten years old. His ability to win with intelligence, his giddy excitement, his accidental rudeness and swaggering arrogance all spoke to me as a nerdy, awkward ten year old who didn't realise he was autistic. Seeing how his now so much more emotionally intelligent and self aware as Fourteen is really emotional. It feels like my Doctor has grown up with me.

Catherine Tate has to be the most under-used actor out there. Her range is incredible.

The way he held her hand like "I will NOT lose you again."

The Doctor grabbing and kissing Donna's hand to reassure her was so sweet. I love how much they love each other. Hard to say since we still know very little about it, but somehow I get the feeling this episode might be one of those claustrophobic pieces that puts their mutual trust to the test.

This looks great, that shot from the vent of something watching them is so unsettling and I love it.

this version of the doctor is a lot more affectionate. i really enjoy seeing 14 let people around him know how much he appreciates them.

I really love how the second the Doctor sees that Donna is in distress, he doesn't hesitate. He reaches for her, kisses her hand and holds it to his chest, and doesn't even say anything until she does. He just looks her in the eye to silently convey, "I'm here, and we're going to get through this." Like he's so unabashedly honest and genuine in his way of comforting her in this scene.

Fourteen feels very much like a matured version of Ten, and that's quickly growing on me. I'm sad we're only getting a couple weeks with him. I hope this more emotionally mature take on the Doctor is something that carries through to Ncuti's run though, because I really like it a lot.

I guess this is what RTD meant when he said 14 is "More human" than 10. 10 was a very human Doctor but he wasn't as openly emotional unless something drastic happened. whereas 14 is a lot more openly affectionate (the kiss of the hand) and wears his emotions proudly on his sleeve.
I like it.😊

14 comes across as so emotionally mature. He can talk to Donna like he's 10, but he's been through the ups and downs of 11's relationships with his companions, and experienced 12 and 13's character arcs.

"I will get you home.", the most powerful line I heard in ages!

I love how loving he is towards Donna. Like he knows he has been missing part of himself without her. They're true partners. Best mates. To the end.

Stop, the way The Doctor grabbed Donna's hand and kissed it to comfort her and reassured her, oh my god. 🥺 I'm sobbing. I've missed their connection so much.

Ah yes, the "something evil in the air vents"! Classic Doctor Who.

The way he kisses her hand gently and places it over his hearts to ground her, it just screams 11th and 12th, this is a very different Doctor indeed

I don’t think I’ve realised just how much I’ve missed the Doctor and Donna since the end of Ten’s run. But it all came flooding back to me watching The Star Beast, and this episode looks like it’s going to be truly brilliant! 💙
