Thanks to everyone it actually turned out to just be the battery

Battery, bad wire/connection, bad starter. Check for 12volts on battery if low recharge. If battery doesn’t come up to 12 replace. You can also just take the battery to an auto parts store and they will test it.

Same sound got a new battery and it fired right up.

Low battery, or bad solenoid. Jump it with cables for low battery or peel back the black rubber bolt covers on the solenoid and arch it using the open end of a wrench. I bet it's battery issue.

hopefully you got it to work i would try grounding the 2 nuts they under the rubber or just replace relay it connects up to your starter

Its the starter relay, I currently have the same problem but cannot find the right part.

Either your starter or your starter silenoid is shot

I have the same problem . I put new starter, new carburetor, new throttle cable, new fuel filter and new cutoff valve. Still making the same sound yours making.

I got a yamaha too either zhe battery is bad or a wire is not connected proppaly

The problem is check wires sees the wars to the starter

Couple right answers a lot of wrong ones who taught you guys how to work on things.. if the battery has a full charge and it's clicking like that the next thing to check is the solenoid which is that thing that you're pointing to behind the air box. You can jump it across by taking the little rubber caps off use something metal just to jump the connection "It will spark" You're pretty much doing what it's doing on the inside. If it turns over now you know that the solenoid is bad.

And that is the starter solenoid that you were thinking what is the starter

Put it in gear (drive or 1st) turn your key on, push it forward and that will start it. Even if your wheels lock up. Roll back then forward. 99% sure that's starter or starter solenoid. Good luck

It is a bad solenoid. That what do too wires go to.
