ATV no start fix.

Is your ATV just clicking when you hit the starter?? let's get to the bottom of it! This is on a Yamaha champ 100 YFM100 but applies to most atvs and bikes.

I have a suzuki lt80. After running it for a couple hours it did exactly that, started clicking. So i came to youtube and found this video. However in my case i didnt have to order another one i simply took it apart brushed the contacts, add a little grease on the center rod to spin easier and tested it with some leads directly to the battery it started spinning so i put it back on. Which if any of you have swapped out a starter in a suzuki lt80 its not a 5 min ordeal. Anyways now it runs stronger than before. So a little tip if it has screws, bolts, pins, i dont care fuckin duct tape holding it together take that shit apart and figure it out learn about it and how it works to better understand your machine. And hell worst case order another one haha but at least you made an effort. Good video bud keep it twisted! 👊✊ 🤘🤘

Thanks for the great video and advice. I too had an issue with a single "click", coming from the starter solenoid (on my 2003 Bayou 250). I watched your video and all the other starter/starter solenoid related YouTube videos available and was convinced that I had a bad started solenoid based on the videos and the fact that the single "click" sound came from the solenoid, not the starter. There were numerous aftermarket starter solenoids available on Amazon for around $10 so I figured I would try the least expensive and easiest repair (compared to replacing the starter itself) first...what a hassle! I bought and returned starter solenoids from 4 different sellers due to the "B" (for battery) and "M" (for motor) being on opposite sides from what the description pictures showed and that the description clearly stated the solenoid was compatible with my specific ATV...maybe it doesn't matter? I don't know though because it turned out that the single "click" coming from the starter solenoid was actually caused by a bad starter. For me, the final clue was that I couldn't "jump" the starter by connecting the solenoid terminals with a screwdriver. I am sure that there are other more exact diagnostics I could have done with a meter but I replaced the starter and everything worked fine, even the original starter solenoid.

How much voltage is a starter suppose to have? You said 13v was to much.. so I was wondering

When I jump the solonoid it starts fine but I’m still getting 13v across the solonoid when I hit the starter button and it doesn’t start

I replaced : battery, starter, solenoid, regulator/rectifier and it still does it. It is charging properly too.

Hello. I have a Kymco mxu 500. There is a problem. My starter spins in jerks. If you press the throttle a little, then it cannot turn at all. What could it be? Has he lost his strength? or is there another problem?Thanks
