i feel so bad for Carrie, that was the one moment of her life she genuinely felt good about herself, and it got snatched away from her in the cruelest of circumstanses.

Everyone has, at one point, felt like Carrie. And everyone has fantasized revenge like this. Such a heartbreaking, but incredibly cathartic film.

I think it's creepier in the 1976 version. Because they have no clue what is happening or why it's happening. The almost emotionless stare coming from Sissy gives me chills and and her slow walk off stage looking around quickly to see what she has done and having no conscience about it really makes it clear she just snapped. Chloe is an amazing actress but Sissy really nailed this role with the look of absolute insanity but her character is an innocent and sweet kind hearted girl. I think it's better because it shows you push someone enough they can snap at any moment and you will never see it coming like this.

The poor actress PJ Soles who played Norma (tall bully girl in baseball cap) said the water pressure from the hose burst her eardrum and she was in hospital for about a month.

Definitely the BEST revenge scene ever committed to film. Brutal, horrific and absolutely necessary. That poor girl was tormented to the point of snapping and losing her sanity completely, and it's no surprise she spares no one in her telekinetic firestorm. Even the ones who tried to help her (though in her rage assumed were ALSO laughing at her). Sissy was magnificent, such a tragic character.

An absolutely iconic film moment.

The fact that Carrie was giving the students who laughed at her their revenge wouldn't have happened if those other girls didn't make fun of Carrie in the bathroom a few days ago by throwing tampons. They were practically getting what they had deserved as the adult staff of the school weren't competent enough to take care of the problem themselves (the staff could have hired security or additional staff to keep guard at the building where the prom was held).

God, that scene of her walking silently out of the school while it’s burning and then slowly closing the door still sends a chill down my spine. That scene is forever burned in my brain, pure brilliance!

The thing that scares me even more is that even when Chris saw what she caused, she still didn’t realize what she did was wrong and she still hated Carrie. And, she showed that by trying to kill her. Chris really is a true villain. Oh, and this scene is all amazing and terrifying.
