I love how Tommy was just as awkward as Carrie was despite his popularity. It just made him feel more real to me instead of the stereotypes usually done for popular kid characters.

Carrie has never been a horror movie for me it’s always been sad bc of how much I relate to it and I cry everytime I watch it

the first time i watched this scene, i started crying and i had to pause it. i was going through a lot of mental health issues and school was a big contributor to that. bullies, pressure to fit in, the fact that i had an undiagnosed disability and schoolwork itself was getting harder, etc. at that point in my life, i never had a teacher that encouraged me like that. i think i just really wanted an adult to give a shit about what i was going through, and this part of the movie hit me like a ton of bricks.

Carrie is so adorable and innocent in this scene. She didn't deserve anything that happened to her 😭

I've been in almost this exact situation. In middle school, there was this school dance. Some girl I never met asked me if I want to go, but I was too afraid it was trick and claimed I couldn't.

I really like how that PE teacher really engaged with Carrie White and supported her. That tells me that the PE teacher engages with and supports her students. I really like how the PE teacher brought discipline to the bullying in the locker room. All of that, that was terrific. I applaud her for that. We really need more teachers like her in our schools. I am speaking about this video clip here but the whole movie.

If I had a boyfriend like Tommy I could never be as generous with him as Sue was.

This is one of my favorite films ever. I could never get tired of it. Still scares the hell out of me

Sue wanted to be her friend, but she was afraid that the other girls would pick on her also

I just know Tommy was excited as hell for Sue to be like “hey that girl you sort of like but I don’t know it and neither does anyone else because *you* don’t even realize it? Yeah, ask her to prom.” Lol

Fun fact: Sissie Spacek and the actress playing as her mother both acted in Grass Harp, only Sissie was the mean authoritarian and Piper Laurie was a innocent sweet character.

I wish I had teachers like this at my school instead of teachers that make my life a living hell

Is it just me who thinks Carrie is beautiful, even though she’s described as plain?
