I always wonder why this part was never in the book? It reflected on the 2013 remake and followed the same words, but this wasn't in the book

2:05 “we don’t care how we look” that line never fails to make me laugh just watching Tommy trying to hold his composure

I wonder how the teacher would have reacted if Sue just told her that she regrets tormenting Carrie and wants to make up for it

They meant well but I think the prom was too big of an event for Carrie. If they wanted to help Carrie's social life perhaps they should've started with something smaller like maybe take her to the movies or a small restaurant something like that.

Thats really sweet of Sue & Tommy! Not many kids would of helped somebody like Carrie. The same with Ms Collins or Dejardan, teachers showing sympathy 😍

Sweet and hilarious scene. We feel Sue’s genuine effort to make it up to Carrie, and yet Ms. NotDesjardin had every right to be protective. And Tommy’s reluctance was both eyerolling but believable (and in the end, he was kinda falling for Carrie too.) See what CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT does? Modern screenwriters, please take note.

@ 2:02. Miss Collins sounds like the bullies in high school, but in a nonchalant tone. I caught on years later. This actually is the "book" version of Miss Collins.

This scene always kind of bothered me, as it's basically a tacit admission she was mostly just lying to Carrie in the previous scene to make her feel better.

Tommy is a good dude when you think about it. He did this for his girlfriend Sue, missing a chance to go with her, and still made Carrie feel like a queen the entire time at prom. He could have said no but in the end he was never selfish and was trying to help out both girls

Woah, is it true that you couldn’t go to prom without a date back in the day?

Tommy is just a piece of meat and bargaining chip between the other two in this scene.
