Thank you for your instructions on how to use this. I got into a serious conversation with a random stranger at Walmart about how much we love coffee and this precious man surprised me by buying me this French press. And i just tried it and it's got to be the best coffee I've ever tasted!

This helped me make a badass cup of coffee today, since I lost the instructions to my French press. Thanks French Press Coffee!

This came in a good pinch after my Keurig bit the dust. I got just the right cup I needed this morning. Thank you <3

Love the way you washed the stirrer with the water. It shows you are efficient, thoughtful, intelligent.

2:25: most of the coffee floats above the water. that means the water extracted a very few of all the grounds. as we will plunge down, we will make the water pass through this coffee bed but most likely there will be a channel so most of the coffee won't be extracted at the end. So tastewise it'll be a sour, bad coffee. I guess this is about thermal mass. A pre-heated, high heat-resistent french press will maintain higher degrees for longer so the water will take out much more solubles. and for me longer it brews, better it tastes, i go for 15 minutes if i'm not busy. just give it a try. but i dont use a french press, but a porcelain tea brewer. it keeps the heat so efficiently, most french presses are weak at this point.

For those of us who don't live at sea level - Water boils at 212 degrees F at sea level but boils at a lower temperature as you go up in elevation - it boils at about 2 degrees less for every 1000 ft in altitude. So at 6000 ft, like where I live, water boils at about 200 degrees F - just right for French Press coffee.

Some of use can't have caffeine due to health issues so we drink decaf. It gives you the same taste and enjoyment. Thanks

I wish I would have seen this perfect brewing video before because I just had my first good cup of coffee out of my French press. Letting the ground coffee bloom first was key👍🏻

This was a wonderful video, thank you! I always fill my press near the top (I usually leave 1/2 inch). I never get grounds but I do get extremely fine coffee at the last cup (which I actually enjoy). I also like 1/2 a level cup of ground dark roast in my 34 oz Chambord (equal to 2 Tbsp per 8 oz water). I should try a medium grind instead of medium-fine and see how it goes.

Dude, your technique is simply awesome. Nowadays, some have invented a technique that doesn't even bother pressing at all. Cheers

James Hoffman has a good recipe for French press. I would recommend that over this.

Thank God for this video! I have been making and enjoying coffee all wrong for nearly fifty years! As did my mother, and grandmother! How did I even live this long without the wisdom of hipsters and loads of expensive gear?
