Pretty decent pay. But you guys deserve every penny of it. It’s a huge responsibility to fly a plane. I love flying but I don’t think I can be a pilot.

Joey...there is so much more to explain here....like, how did your captain get 18 hours of paid work time out of a single leg 4 hour flight? I always thought pilots only got paid for "wheels-up" time (actual flying hours), but maybe I am wrong about that. There are your total duty hours, including the time you are on the clock sitting on the ground. Plus you get $2.15/hr per diems based on something, perhaps duty hours or total trip time from home base to home base? Do you get paid at different rates for flying time vs duty time? Pilot compensation is not simple. Other questions like: when you dead head and you are a passenger back to your home base, does this count as paid duty time? I would think the most important thing is to get your actual flying hours up so you can get promoted.

Frontier FO new hires make $100 per hour, with minimum 75 hours per month guaranteed, so I assume you gross at least $7, 500 per month (or $90K per year). And then supplement that with all the millions you are making here on YT hahaha. When you say you don't make any money, I am guessing what you mean is that you are going to get paid $7, 500 per month whether you work or not since it is guaranteed, and you cannot make more until you get over your 75 hours for the month. It appears the airlines take advantage of on-call guys like you at the bottom of the seniority list to fill in for all the sh*t flight schedules because you are obligated to work the 75 hours when they offer it. It is paying your dues as part of working up through the system.

Anyway, it is none of my business, but someday I would like to hear a good explanation of how all this works for pilots in the airline industry. Love your videos, will keep watching.

It’s definitely good money but I’m sure you prioritize your fitness over working more which could hinder your athletic performance. Someone could do the opposite and work insane hours and make a lot of money but then they would lose fitness, relationship, and etc.

Just gotta pick what works best for you. Everything has its pros and cons.

The reasons airlines loose money. Too many unions, too much overhead, inefficient pricing model.

Interesting stuff, but you probably shouldn't air your complaints about pay on social media.
