Btw, if for some reason the pc shuts down during the update, for example power outage, your motherboard is dead, literally, you need to take it to a repair center.

You missed the most important steps which are back up your old bios before updating and do not turn off your pc while the update is in progress.

Always read the BIOS update description. Some updates will fix security vulnerabilities. You don't skip updates based on not having a problem 🤦 Sometimes the update can add features or boost performance. Do not skip a BIOS update without reading the notes first or wait for an issue!

For anyone who is updating bios the first time … DO NOT TURN OFF PC DURING THE BIOS UPDATE!!

Make sure you make a backup of your old bios and you have chosen the correct version of the bios because if you don't, your pc will be useless after the "update"

Crucial step is to know what BIOS version you currently have and sometimes you need to update multiple times depending on how old the bios is. Sometimes you can't directly update to the latest or certain versions without updating to specific ones in a particular order. You could potentially brick your bios.

I’d like to change a Asrock bios, but the new bios is not recommended with old cpu. It’s a B450M-HDV, the cpus 2200g to be upgraded to 5600.

if motherboard have bios flashback, do not enter bios and turn off pc, unplug and plus to BIOS flash port, press button 3 seconds

I had an issue with my asus Z95 pro where the bios was corrupted and it wouldnt post. when I downloaded the BIOS for it, there was no renamer file, and I couldnt figure out what to name it, but eventually figured out it needed to be named Z95P.cap, this naming scheme is used by asus for everything. its pretty straightforward since its just shorthand for the motherboards name, but I never understood why they dont just have the file pre-named?
