Fun fact: the song was written practically blind, the author didn't know the direction show will take, only some basic themes from a couple of first episodes. That's why it's so optimistic and joyful. I found its juxtaposition to the show itself quite amuzing :D

Evangelion and The End Of Evangelion, has to be one of the most mature yet depressing anime’s I’ve ever seen. Gone are the cliches that I see in most modern anime, hell especially for a show that released in 1990s. Hideaki Anno gave us us one of the most mature yet haunting themes of what would it be like to be the pilot inside a giant robot (that secretly your mother is trapped in) and a character like Shinji that everyone can relate to what’s it like to lack a spine to be stuck with a hedgehogs dilemma and being afraid of human contact. and the religious symbolism and metaphors and with a great use of classical music when there’s an a 2 or probably felt like 4 minute of an unskippable take of Unit-01 holding Kaworu as we the audience hearing to Beethoven 9 symphony, and “Air” by Johann Sebastian plays when Asuka fights the Eva Series giving us hands down one of the best fights in anime history.
This is a word I’ve never used but once Third Impact commenced my first initial thoughts said “if Stanley Kubrick directed a gundam anime.” Because that scene was so odd and abstract that nobody knows what it means or symbolized.
And how this show left me and others with an impact of what we just saw all were thinking is...

I have always been skeptical about starting the show cause I have mixed feelings about anime, I started it but kind of lost interest a couple episodes in, but this wonderful video reminded me how hauntingly beautiful the visuals and imagery in this show is. I'll continue watching.

The ending of the show left me with a huge question mark on my head but after the end of evangelion, I understood everything. It left me with a different feeling that I usually get from finishing something. The story was really good. I love it's theme. It's one of the most unique show I saw.
