One thing that I have wondered about the "Aegon Blackfyre" theory is why the Golden Company would rally behind a Targaryen banner, even if that banner was a ruse. There could be something I'm missing, but it seems as if 1) Aegon would rule under the assumed Targaryen name, which would not provide House Blackfyre with the symbolic prestige of being publicly declared kings or 2) Aegon publicly reveals his true identity, in turn undermining his legitimacy among the nobles who believed him to be a Targaryen. As I'm typing this, I am realizing that the Golden Company could simply want to reclaim the prestige, holdings and honors of their houses, or they may be content with the knowledge that the Blackfyres secretly reclaimed the throne, even if they never rule under the name Blackfyre. However, it's definitely worth asking why the Golden Company would back someone publicly claiming to be a Targaryen, even if they are really not, when their entire identity is anti-Targaryen. (Another thing I want to bring up is that Aegon could be a false Targaryen and not be aware of it, as he could have been lied to growing up by Varys, Illyrio, etc. However, whether a hypothetical false Aegon knows the truth about his own identity is irrelevant to my questions, so I just wrote this as if a false Aegon would be deliberately lying).

The golden company may aid Aegon because illyrio will pay them good, It doesn't necessarily mean that Aegon is a Blackfyre.
Golden company was established by a Blackfyre but that was years ago and now they only care about who pays the most
