How being bored can change your life

As I've grown up boredom has become my worst enemy. Whenever I get bored I usually get depressed because I feel like if I'm bored than I'm doing something wrong, when that's not actually the case. Put down your phone, embrace the boredom, and use it as a space to think of some new Ideas. Boredom doesn't have to be a bad thing.

Being bored kinda helps you appreciate the simplest aspects of life that makes it whole. It's normal to feel like you've somehow underachieved something or underestimated a particular timing of events that made such a huge impact on you. Life is no race. Everyone moves at their own pace.

3:34 This is soooo true! I have a younger brother and he just got his smart phone a month before. Since then I started noticing his behaviour changing. Like he's not interested on the talk we used to do after dinner... he will eat and go to his phone.

Then I changed his phone password and told him he is not touching the phone for 2 weeks. Then after interesting things started to happen... he became bored like he has never lived without a smart phone. after the 1st day without his phone, he started to came with new ideas to do with me. We will cook foods together for mom and dad, play football and exercise together, read Bible together consistently and amazingly he will ask me random interesting and a bit stoic questions.
(I'm a programmer and mostly on my laptop working but I always enjoy spending time with him a lot, his is my only brother and the youngest of all)

Sadly(for me, not for him🙂) the 2 weeks ended. Now I am writing this comment and he is watching his phone infront.

I put screen time limits on YouTube everyday to prevent doom scrolling. It also gives me a sense of urgency to watch the most important videos only. It is hard at first but after a while you feel so much better because you’re more productive with your time.

Charlie, this has been a philosophy I had in my life for a long time, and I’m telling you, you are absolutely right. I need anime, movies, youtube videos, youtube shorts, tik tok, especially "pron" to occupy my mind from the reality of my situation. I have so many things I need to do. I should be studying for my degree, reading about finance and my bible....but all i wanna do is just OCCUPY my mind with content.I dont want to think about existential dread, my financial situation, or my lack of a social life.
