I quit a 10 year job last year to pursue a more meaningful life, so I totally resonate with many of the points in your video 😃🎉

I’m glad to see your video. I just finished my PhD at Cambridge and, as what society and family expect, I should join a respected university trying to get a tenure in 10-15 years and play things safe. But as someone with schizophrenia and social anxiety disorder for 15 yrs and counting, I learn that my mind points me to a different direction - I still like to conduct research and story-tell as a whole. Yet, I don’t thing I will linger around academia with a rigid 9-6 (otherwise, I will be subject to chronic depression or what I dub “chronic dying”)

I'm 55yrs old $24, 000 weekly and I'm retired, this video have inspired me greatly in many ways that I remember my past of how I struggled with many things in life to be where I'm today!!❤

Hi. I’m also a PM who just recently quit my job. The burnout and stress got the best of me and i finally decided to leave this high-paying job - which even let me work from home!!! Some people might say i’m crazy. But let me just tell you that your video ignited something within me and I now feel really inspired. There’s a comfort in knowing you are not alone in the same kind of journey and others feel the same. I wish you good luck and success!

I feel like I have watched a bunch of vlogs of people leaving their corporate jobs for a smaller life, and this one is the only one that had so many moments that resonated with me.

The stress tax is so real because once I started working higher paying jobs, I noticed that I seem to have less money than when I had my entry-level position, putting inflation aside for a little bit because I don’t need extravagances in general so I was very confused by that and that put it all clearly for me.
I know exactly what you mean by realizing that you don’t need that much in terms of spending once you found a happy balanced life where you weren’t using your money to purchase ways to find joy.

I’ve never heard that Jim Carrey quote before, but it is lovely, thank you for sharing it.

Melbourne looks sooo beautiful!!! I love that you're figuring things out as you go - that's exactly what I'm doing, and it has been quite the adventure! 😅 Sending love from the United States.

Babe! I quit my horrific law firm job after 5 yrs in Bombay. I’m so so relieved that I started investing early and could do this tbh! So glad I could spend time with my friends and family guiltfree, have a a month in europe and am now thinking about my next steps (and next holiday). I too don’t have an answer for how long and that is perfectly fine :) relate hard on how many choices we made as corporate employees were because that is the limited time our corporate jobs allowed us to make. We didn’t actually make the best ones :) enjoy the journey and see you on every side of this! Hi-5!

This is a great video. I love all your videos. I actually have made several changes in my life, meaning I've had different chapters completely different than the previous. After high school, I went to college in GA for graphic design and video production. After I got my degree, I moved to MI where I got a job helping people with disabilities. I taught computer classes, did the website, and did the IT stuff for the organization. During that time, I also had a second job at a comic book store and I was in a relationship where I helped raise my girlfriend's two children from her previous relationship (and the father was not in the picture). That was so rewarding. Keep in mind I myself have a disability and use a wheelchair. Unfortunately, a few years later, we drifted apart (wanting different things in life), so we broke up and she moved out. I never saw the kids again, which is sad. Then, I dived more into my spirituality and traveled quite a bit. I became an extrovert... after my entire life being an introvert. I even wrote three books about self-empowerment and positivity. After writing my third book, I decided to leave my job at the organization after ten years and go back to school in GA to obtain a physics undergraduate degree. Towards the end, I realized I enjoyed the mathematics behind it better, so I got my Masters in math. And now, I'm going for my PhD in math, working on combinatorial number theory. It's very challenging, but I love it.

I am so happy and rooting for you, Tika Ghafar. I hope you take off some day as you wish.
I used to have a dream to go live overseas. I was once an exchange student and spent a year in Canada. That is one of my best experiences for sure. Now, I need to live with the reality and responsibility that I am proud of, to take care of my own family, my wife, and enjoy finding as much money as possible to clear off my beautiful and happy house.

Good day! Tika

girl I'm vicariously traumatized by that seagull attack, sending you healing vibes 💖
I really enjoyed hearing your reflections over your experience in the past 6 months, I think it’s super admirable that you’re maintaining a positive outlook even when things don’t go to plan. I’m excited to see what’s in store for you this next 6 months 😊
