SpaceX Starship SN7 with Lunar Lander’s landing legs in 4K

4K renders of SpaceX Starship SN4-SN7 with landing legs from Starship SE (Lunar Lander) unveiled by Elon Musk on May 2nd, 2020. Moon Lander for mission to the Moon from SpaceX will be the special edition version of the currently building Starship rocket. Actual lander will be simplified version of starship. But I want to pay your attention for landing legs design. For current SN4/SN5 prototypes the actual legs got 6 deployable leg units.

Standard version of Starship according to SpaceX official website got 4 landing legs with linear telescopic construction. But current prototype already has 6 units. And the concept of Lunar Lander has 6 legs with similar linear telescopic construction. Obviously SpaceX will not make special design of landing legs for Lunar Lander. This vehicle will mostly get highly simplified technologies from the general version of the spacecraft. That means, the angular design of landing legs for SN4 prototype is temporal. It cause me to make a suggestion, that in the upcoming SN7 prototype we may see the same 6 linear telescopic landing legs as we have in Lunar Lander. I made several renders of Starship SN7 prototype with updated landing legs design. Here is how it is look like. I understand, this is kinda speculative topic, but I think that kind of update is possible.

So they’re not just landing legs, but self levelling shock absorbers. Great idea.

I think the 6 leg configuration is the way to go. Because if one fails you could still stand on 5. But with only 4, and one fails, that's leaves an unstable vehicle.

I think it needs at least 12 legs just to sustain such a massive space flight vehicle.

All those little legs are supposed to take the whole the weight of a starship in the gravel of Mars without sinking into it I have no idea

For security, the legs may have thrusters with central contral, that can calibrate the reported informations of each leg about everything that is needed for a stabilization fully balanced!!!

SN 20 or so for orbit, once Musk said... SN 7 for Lunar - very optimistic

I think that there is a way to recover 100% of the first stages launched.
i don't have the exact distance that the first stage moves away from the coast, depending on the slope required for the launch of the second stage!
Since the function of the first stage is simply to launch the secon stage and return, makin no difference the turnaround time, the first stage must be stopped, and the rescue raft is positioned as close to your landing site.
So using fuel just to stabilize the landing!

00:48 in 1/6th gravity, if it comes down that hard, it will bounce like a basketball right off the surface and end up in an ill fated pitch over. She will have to land a lot softer than that.

I thing the legs must be independents (intelligent), to feel the soil slope, and the pressure over each one, for exemple!

Land on those legs? I know engineers are smarter than me but why make it harder

If stabilization it is not possible for one leg, by intangibility, the compensation can be done by independent propulsion, until correction. two legs or more, abort!!!????

you forgot to remove the sea level engines from the HLS Starship

what about the same configuration as Falcon 9 landing legs?

U can't compare the landing mechanism of sn4 with sn7. Sn4 was never flown before.

They need to go with something a little closer to the ITS leg design, I know Elon's trying to save weight but we have to be realistic here

Diameter of leg span too small, will tip over. Look at Falcon 9 leg span for size of rocket.

Now we have seen that landing legs are important...

Can it go to the moon without orbital refuelling?

Why would this still have 3 sea level Raptors?
