Disc is the soft tissue present in between the vertebral bones. Vertebra are the bones of the spine. So these are the bones and in between the bones the disc is present. So when it becomes weak because of the chronic stress, the stress and strain of the body. So as the age advances, it also becomes weaker and if there is any abnormality in the joints in the spine, the in the disc degenerates. So once the disc degenerates, it cannot take the load of the spine. so once the patient disc prolapses, it gets stretched and that causes stretch pain, resulting in back pain. So sometimes what happens is because the disc is degenerated, the disc can get town and once it gets torn, it presses upon the nerve. So patient my have pain along the buttocks, back of the thigh, or lower leg or foot. So running pain, and that is called as running pain or sciatica same pain can cause neck pain, back of neck forearms, arms, numbness of arms or foot. The treatment in early stage is conservative treatment.
